Well-known record producer and rapper Madlib has recently lost his house and music equipment in the ongoing wildfires in Los Angeles. Notably, the artist's net worth is almost $4 million, as stated by CAKnowledge.

DJ Premiere revealed the news through his official X handle on January 13, 2025. He added a link to the nonprofit organization LOVElikeWWATER which aims to collect funds for Madlib so that he can rebuild the house that has been destroyed.

DJ Malib, also known as Otis Lee Jackson, Jr., his team shared an Instagram post on his page on the platform on Tuesday, January 14, requesting help from the public. The post featured a photo seemingly showing the remains of Otis' house and the caption reads in part:

"Your donation, no matter the amount, will provide assistance to help Madlib with immediate personal needs, essentials like clothing, temporary housing, transportation costs and the tools Madlib needs to continue creating the music that has touched so many lives. 100% of your donations are tax deductible and will go directly to Madlib and his family."

The team wrote that the link to make donations has been added to the bio and clarified:

"This is not to rebuild the physical home this is to start rebuilding life for immediate needs."

The donation website shows that more than 900 people have donated until now and they additionally expressed grief for everything that happened along with praying for the safety of Otis and his family.

Madlib has accumulated a lot of wealth from the music industry: Earnings and other details explained

The Oxnard, California native has become a popular face over the years for his flawless work in the musical world. As a rapper, he has been a part of different groups such as Madvillain and Lootpack and also established a record label named Madlib Invazion.

According to The New Yorker Magazine, his parents were musicians and although he never intended to be a part of the music industry, he grew up listening to his father's records. He became familiar with hip-hop after being introduced to the same by his brother Pete and started following the works of other artists.

He formed Lootpack in the '80s with his classmates Jack Brown and Romeo Jimenez, now known as Wildchild and DJ Romes. The group was then spotted by a producer, Peanut Butter Wolf, of a company, Stones Throw.

Lootpack released an album titled Soundpieces: Da Antidote in 1999 and had 24 singles on the soundtrack. He later collaborated with record producer and rapper J Dilla for a project titled Champion Sound, which received a positive response and was listed as the best album by various publications.

Madlib also had a few collaborative EPs with Freddie Gibbs in his credits, starting with Thuggin, which came out in 2011. This was followed by two similar projects, Shame and Deeper, and they released an album titled Pinata around three years later.

He has even produced albums for various artists and groups, including Percee P, Strong Arm Steady, Guilty Simpson, Black Star, The Alkaholiks, Slum Village, Cali Agents, and more.
