Last week, Tyler announced that he would host an album-listening event in Los Angeles a day before Chromakopia's release at the Intuit Dome on October 27, 2024.
"Los Angeles I'm playing my album in full for you at the Intuit Dome. I will not be performing, I will be standing in the middle of the venue lip-syncing to the new sounds. This event costs $5." - Tyler stated on X.
The project will be distributed to DSPs via Columbia Records, arriving over three years after his Grammy-winning sixth studio album, Call Me If You Get Lost, was delivered to streaming.

Tyler, the Creator explains how the album was formed by experiences he's had growing up in Inglewood, citing how most people were unaware of his childhood before the age of 17. He explains why the album primarily centers around his mother's teachings, saying:
"The album kinda just turned into me taking a bunch of sh*t my mom told me as a kid. Now that I'm 33, all that stuff is like, Oh... that's what the f**k she was talking about."
He highlights how much his life has changed since he first started in the industry, citing instances of peers getting married and starting a family. While reflecting on his own maturity, Tyler explains how his recent purchase of a Ferarri symbolizes the "weird" materialistic life path he chose.
"People are getting older, folks having families now, and all I got is a new Ferrari. It does feel kinda weird. Life is Life-ing, and I don't know, I just wanted to write about stuff I think about when I'm dolo-ing. I'm happy that y'all got to experience [Chromakopia] in my hometown." - Tyler, the Creator said.
