Following the arrest of All Of My Life hitmaker Lil Durk, rapper THF Bayzoo shared a message accusing the internet of painting a false picture about the rapper and the internet had a lot to say. Durk was arrested on Thursday night, October 24, on a murder-for-hire charge. The rapper was taken into custody in Broward County, Florida.
Durk was arrested only days after the arrest of five other individuals associated with his hip-hop group OTF (Only The Family) connected to the 2022 murder of rival rapper Quando Rondo's cousin. Durk's close associate THF Bayzoo released an Instagram story on Saturday, October 26 taking aim at social media and the charge against the rapper. Bayzoo wrote:
"Social media, fake fans, bloggers, etc know how to give unproven titles to ppl. Murda 4 hire is outrageous."
He added:
"Painting a picture for the officials to run wit to trick u our your position smh. For the record why would he have to pay his day to hunt for the lost of another day. Make it make sense."
Bayzoo ended his statement with a "Free Da Trenches" remark. Some social media users felt that Bayzoo's statement made sense. One X user who went by @Vonfanpage4lf tweeted out:
"Y’all make it make sense , dis sum real s**t,"
Similar reactions followed as a section of users agreed with Bayzoo and further explained what he meant. Here are a few X reactions to Bayzoo's statement:
"Social media convicts before facts are presented we all know that," explained one X user.
"Ya that’s a fact," felt another X user.
"Type s**t," said yet another user.
However, a slew of other social media users disagreed with Bayzoo and asked him to move on from the whole situation like Quando Rondo had. Additionally, some users expressed that they didn't understand what Bayzoo was saying.
"Do like Rondo and move on," said one X user.
"Make this paragraph make sense I don't understand a lick of it lmao," noted another user.
"Some things better left unsaid but at the same time feds charged him with that not the media," said a third user.
"This makes 0 sense. Kids these days are idiots," said yet another user.
Lil Durk was arrested for allegedly planning a hit on Quando Rondo
As mentioned earlier, 32-year-old Chicago rapper Lil Durk was arrested on Thursday while in Broward County Florida, and charged with murder-for-hire. The indictment against Durk claimed that the rapper conspired with others to murder rival rapper Quando Rondo.
As per the indictment, a complaint filed on Thursday night identified Lil Durk as the leader and founding member of the hip-hop group, OTF (Only The Family), of which late rapper King Von was a member. Authorities believed that OTF also acted as agents of violence at Lil Durk's direction.
Von lost his life after a gunfire altercation between his and rapper Quando Rondo's crew back in November 2020. He was shot by an associate of Rondo named Timothy "Lul Tim" Leeks, who was initially charged with the murder but the charges against Leeks were dropped in 2023.
In 2022 Quando Rondo was ambushed with gunfire while in his vehicle alongside his sister and cousin Saviay'a Robinson a.k.a Lul Pab. As a result of the altercation Lul Pab lost his life. The indictment alleged that the failed hit on Rondo was carried out by OTF members at the direction of Lil Durk as revenge for Von.
Apart from Lil Durk, five other co-conspirators of the hit were also arrested and charged in a separate indictment only days before Durk's arrest. If convicted Lil Durk and these five co-conspirators face a maximum sentence of life in federal prison. Durk is currently held at Broward County Jail and is waiting for a transfer to U.S. Marshals.
