Beyoncé's fans are not pleased with the new wax statue that was revealed on July 4 by the Grevin Wax Museum in Paris. The social media users pointed out that the singer's skin tone appeared to have been whitewashed.
The statue appeared to be inspired by the singer's one of the iconic metallic Renaissance tour outfits.

The museum announced the addition of Beyoncé's statue on its official Instagram page. Once the photo went viral on different social media platforms, some fans took to the Instagram post, while others took to X to express their opinion about the entire thing.
“Fire whoever did this one and Hire whoever did the millie bobby brown one”, one X user wrote, referring to Millie Bobby Brown’s wax figure.
“They only got the fabrics right … everything else just trash”, another X user commented.
“I hate these wax figures, they’re always so weird”, wrote another one.
Other X users took the entire incident lightly and wrote some humorous comments.
“That’s not beyoncé that’s bernice”, one X user commented.
“Whose face is that? what did they do to you queen b?” asked another one.
“I know they lying”, another X user wrote, jokingly.
“Why is she whiter than taylor swift”, asked another user, humorously.
Beyoncé’s new wax statue in Paris didn’t work well with the fans
On Thursday, July 4, the Grevin Wax Museum in Paris debuted the singer's newest wax figure, along with a caption that read-
“Beyoncé makes her entrance in Grévin! Dear Beyhive, beware of appearances, the real Queen B is well with us..”
Beyoncé's statue wore a low-cut, silver bodysuit that was combined with fishnet tights covered in rhinestones and a silver shawl that hung over her arms.
The wax statue's long brown wig was styled in a traditional Beyoncé manner, and a flawless smokey eye finished off the cosmetics. It appeared to be inspired by the singer's metallic Renaissance tour outfits from her global tour.
However, it apparently didn’t work well with the singer’s fans. They claimed that the waxwork did not resemble her at all. When the photo was reshared on X, it immediately went viral and garnered 1.5M views.
Many fans even shared their confusion on social media. Some said that it looked like Mariah Knowles while another one said that it’s whiter than Taylor Swift.
Previously Madame Tussauds garnered backlash for its wax statues
Previously on February 8, 2024, photos of the new wax figure of Lady Gaga and Beyoncé were posted on Instagram by Madame Tussauds Blackpool in the United Kingdom. The caption read-
"Let's Dance! Our two BRAND NEW global super stars have arrived! Queen Bey and Lady Gaga have landed in our Alist Awards Party and are bringing some serious red carpet vibes.”
It continued,
"Get down to Madame Tussauds Blackpool this Saturday and be the first to see them in the (wax) flesh!"
The statue wore an eye-catching silver bodysuit with a large, flowing bow. There were matching silver gloves as well. Even though there are some similarities, fans criticised the statue for not resembling Beyoncé.
Meanwhile, the Single Ladies singer didn’t say anything regarding her wax statues as of yet.
