Well-known musician Mikkey Dee recently opened up about a health scare in a social media post on January 2, 2025. The popular drummer's work with bands like Scorpions made him a popular face, and it contributed a lot to his wealth. Notably, he boasts a net worth of $9 million, as reported by Celebrity Net Worth.

Also known as Micael Kiriakos Delaoglou, he shared about his health in a lengthy statement through Facebook alongside a photo that was taken at his residence.

Micael revealed that he was taken to the hospital during the holiday season after contracting sepsis, adding that he is now back home. However, the artist mentioned that he still has a long way to go in terms of recovery.

"Thankfully, I have received fantastic care at the Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Gothenburg, my hometown. So thanks a million to all the Doctors and Nurses that have been giving me the most excellent care," Mikkey Dee wrote.

Mikkey Dee said that he is excited to play drums again for the Residency, which is scheduled to start next month. He expressed his happiness towards the end by saying:

"We have a tremendous 2025 to look forward to, celebrating 60 years of Scorpions and many exciting giggs around the world. So, the Stinger is out and I can't wait to see you all out there on the road and rock the hell out of you!"

The Gothenburg, Sweden native accumulated a huge fanbase over the years after being associated with different musical groups. He had an opportunity to contribute to the albums of all the bands he has worked with, which also helped him to become a popular face among the public.

However, Scorpions is one particular band that made Mikkey Dee famous in the last few years. He initially played for them on a few occasions until they decided to bring him in as a permanent member in 2016. A report by Blabbermouth stated that he was brought in as a replacement for James Kottak.

Dee said at the time that he felt honored to be a part of the group and also addressed how the band was different compared to Motörhead. As per Blabbermouth, Mikkey mentioned that Motörhead was a "three-piece" and added:

"For instance, when Phil [Campbell, Motorhead guitarist], was doing his solo, I might have to be a little busier on the kick drum. Here [in the Scorpions], I've gotta think the opposite – I've gotta be easier on certain things and step into some other stuff. But it's a great challenge."

Celebrity Net Worth stated that Mikkey Dee has previously played for a heavy metal band, King Diamond. He worked on five of their albums, with the first being Fatal Portrait in 1986. All of them received a positive response from the audience and critics.

Although he has been a part of Scorpions for a long time, he has only worked on two of their albums. During his time with Motörhead, Dee had the opportunity to contribute to 13 big projects like Overnight Sensation and King of Death, and they even managed to reach the top of the charts.

Apart from these two bands, Mikkey Dee played for Don Dokken in his album, Up from the Ashes, which grabbed a position on the US Billboard 200. He has also worked with power metal band Helloween in an album titled Rabbit Don't Come Easy.

While Mikkey is trending right now after he shared a post about his health scare, he created headlines in November last year after reports of his death went viral on different platforms. Mikkey later clarified through Facebook that the news was fake.
