My Chemical Romance band members list explored as former drummer Bob Bryar is found dead at 44

Former My Chemical Romance member Bob Bryar was found dead on November 26, 2024, at his residence in Tennessee. His body was reportedly decomposed when discovered. There were two dogs inside the home, which were taken away with the help of animal control, as per The New York Post.

Bryar was associated with My Chemical Romance for nearly six years. The group's current lineup includes Gerard Way, Ray Toro, Mikey Way, and Frank Iero. Also, it previously featured Matt Pelissier and James Dewees. Notably, the group has three albums to its credit.

Detailed information regarding Bryar's cause of death has yet to be made official. A report by Consequence stated that an autopsy is being conducted by a medical examiner and no foul play is suspected at this time.

According to Bob's bio on Billboard, he developed an interest in playing drums during his childhood days and played with various school bands. He worked with other groups such as The Used and Thrice before becoming an important part of My Chemical Romance, contributing to major projects like May Death Never Stop You.

After exiting the band in 2010, Bob continued playing for other groups while they toured and retired as a musician around four years later. Furthermore, Bryar was involved with various philanthropic activities as part of rescuing dogs and even made donations for these causes.

Coming to those who played with the band, Gerard Way and his brother Mikey, along with Ray Toro and Frank Iero, have been part of the group since 2001. Among the four, Gerard is also active as a writer for different comic books, including The Umbrella Academy. As a solo artist, he has an album in his credits, titled Hesitant Alien.

Gerard's brother Mikey has worked as an actor, appearing in the second season of the action-comedy series, The Aquabats! Super Show!. He has also established another group called Electric Century, whose self-titled EP came out back in 2015.

Ray Toro has contributed to the works of other artists, such as Voltaire, and has released a solo album, Remember the Laughter. On the other hand, Frank Toro has been associated with other rock bands, such as L.S. Dunes and Leathermouth.

Although the rest of the members were involved with My Chemical Romance for only a few years, they had an opportunity to work on a few of their popular albums. The first is Bob Bryar, who joined the group in 2004. The band announced his exit in 2010 through a statement on their website.

Next on the list is James Dewees, who began playing keyboards for My Chemical Romance in 2007. Apart from that, he was involved with other popular groups in his career, including Coalesce.

Before Bryar joined the group, Matt Pelissier was a drummer and co-founder. His bio on Gaia Online stated that he reportedly had a conflict with the members, leading to his exit. He later settled in New Jersey, working as a mechanic.


My Chemical Romance was formed after the US attack

On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks in 2021, the band shared a statement on Instagram, recalling how the incident led to the formation of the group. The post featured a black-and-white photo of their performance on stage, with the caption noting that the attacks changed the lives of everyone involved with the band. The caption read:

"Starting Mychem was a direct result of everything we experienced and witnessed during those horrific events. The world changed that day, and the next day we set about trying to change the world. Mychem has always been bigger than its parts. Even when the band took time away the MCRmy was there spreading the work and living the message of "Keep Yourself Alive!""

My Chemical Romance split in 2013, and although they planned a reunion tour around four years ago, it did not happen due to the restrictions emerging out of the COVID-19 pandemic, as per Rolling Stone.
