Rumors of Travis Scott and Drake engaging in a feud began in April 2024. However, on August 5, 2024, Travis played Drizzy's new song during a DJ set. The My Eyes rapper played Drake's recently released track Sideways and the producer of the track, Gordo, was in attendance at Travis' DJ set.
Gordo also took to Instagram to share a video of himself and Travis grooving to Drizzy's new track, which in turn sparked reactions from internet users who thought the two rappers were able to resolve their issues.
Expressing happiness over the possibility of Drizzy and Travis not being in a feud, one of the fans wrote on X:
"MY GOATS ARENT BEEFING"
Drake has also been involved in a rap feud with American rapper Kendrick Lamar and it recently escalated in March, following the release of Metro Boomin, Future and Lamar's Like That. However, LeBron James, Drake's close friend, was present at Lamar's concert a few months ago. Referencing to that, an internet user commented under Gordo's post,
"Trav and Bron both still fw Drake lolz"
Another fan joked,
"Backpaddeling going crazy 🤣 Papi outside."
"Tell travis to get his sh** together that lebron behavior a bit sus", another X user tweeted referring to LeBron James
Some internet users also expressed their confusion over the matter, given the two rappers showcased discontent with one another since the Drake and Kendrick Lamar feud began. One fan wrote,
"Rappers might be worse than street ni**as when it comes to lack of integrity. A deplorable bunch of people"
"but kendrick fans told me travis hated drake ???" , another internet user questioned.
Another fan added,
"First it was Derozan thn Lebron and now Travis😭 who’s next Dave Free? 😂😂"
Referring to the track that was a part of Lamar's joint album with Travis, titled We Don’t TrustYou, and featured a diss-verse on Drake, one X user commented,
"Tell him to play "like that" that's what he like isn't it".
Drake's alleged feud with Travis Scott: Details explored
Drake and Travis Scott collaborated on SICKO MODE in 2018 and on Meltdown in 2023. The alleged feud between the two rappers is rumoured to have begun after Travis joined Future and Metro Boomin in headlining a set at Rolling Loud California on March 22, 2024.
During the set, Travis Scott asked Metro Boomin and Hendrix to debut their track Like That which the duo performed without including Kendrick Lamar's diss on Drake that originally featured in the song.
After the song was released, it was alleged that Travis was aware of Lamar's diss verse on Drizzy in the track. However, some also alleged that the concert took place before the song was publicly released.
Moreover, during his appearance at J. Cole’s, It’s All a Blur – Big as the What? Tour, Drake performed his collab with Travis, that is, Meltdown. In the fan video footage of the performance in April, Drizzy can be seen miming a gun using his hand and shooting at an inflatable head prop of Travis Scott's head. As Drake mimed to shoot the prop, explosions lit the prop up. The video of the same went viral suggesting the beginning of Drake's feud with Travis Scott.
In other news, Travis Scott is set to feature on Nigerian afro beats artist Asake's latest album called Lungu Boy, which will be releasing on August 9, 2024. Rappers like Stormzy and Central Cee join Travis in the collab.
