Nathy Peluso spoke about her newly released album in an exclusive interview with El Pais on May 17, 2024, revealing the aim and significance behind the album and its tracks:

"An artist’s job is to shake up cultural and personal foundations. As uncomfortable as it may be. I’ve always had to make an extra effort to fit in. My character takes its toll on me. But I feel power within me. And I think it is my mission to spread that strength to people."

Nathy Peluso later stated, in response to being asked why men scare away from powerful women in relation to her track Mafioso:

"The power? They scare easily. How seductive is it to see someone confident in themselves... If that pushes someone away, it’s because they probably have to work on themselves. Let them work in therapy and we will meet them later. I love the intensity."

Grasa is Nathy Peluso's first album since 2020's debut, Calambre. Her debut, released by Sony like her second album, and its success led to subsequent collaborations with artists such as Tiago PZK on the single Ella Tiene as well as with Emilia on Jet Set. On Grasa, she collaborated with Blood Orange, Duki, C. Tangana, Lua de Santana, and Ca7riel & Paco Amoroso.
