Kendrick Lamar and Eminem have dropped new music recently and netizens have taken to X to debate who is better the better rapper. The conversation took over the social networking site following the release of Kendrick's many Drake diss tracks, including his recent track Not Like Us. Eminem’s singles from his upcoming The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce) album left some netizens critical of his music.

An X user tweeted on July 3,

“No way people think Kendrick Lamar could beat Eminem in a rap beef lmaoo yall funny.”

At the time of writing this article, the tweet had amassed over 11 million views. Many then responded to the tweet by siding with their preferred musicians.

“Mariah straight embarrassed Eminem. I’ll put my money on Kendrick,” one netizen said.

“People forget em made a career out of battle rapping pretty much lmao,” another X user stated.

“Eminem’s entire career is fighting popstars and losing to them. He gets washed. Never would Kendrick drop something so cringey as Eminem did during that Trump bulls**t lmao [expletive] a has been and even then his catalogue is embarrassing, 99% popstars. Current Drake washes him too,” another netizen opined.

Kendrick Lamar and Eminem have not feuded in the past, but netizens are comparing the two in a rap battle. Other tweets read:

“Fr. Eminem would literally smoke him,” another X user said.

“Eminem would lose solely off of his beat choices,” a platform user said.

“I love Kendrick but in terms of pure rapping Eminem can keep up with everybody,” an internet user said.

Eminem has praised Kendrick Lamar in the past

Despite fans pitting the two against each other, Eminem appears to be fond of Kendrick Lamar. In May 2022, Kendrick dropped his Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers album. Speaking about the same, Eminem said on X:

“Yo @DrDre this Kendrick album is f**king ridiculous. I’m speechless.”

In April 2017, DJ Peter Rosenberg expressed his opinions on the matter on Hot 97 about the similar better rapper debate back then. This came after Lamar released his fourth studio album, DAMN. Rosenberg opined Lamar was the best rapper who had ever lived. He then stated that although Eminem “can rap well,” he is not better than Kendrick.

Kendrick Lamar's Not Like Us music video garnered over 14 million views in less than 14 hours. The MV included multiple disses made towards Drake and his OVO music label. It also included several cameos, including those from his fiancée Whitney Alford and their two children, Tommy the Clown, TDE, DJ Mustard, and DeMar DeRozan.

Eminem has dropped two singles from his The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce) album. The album is to be released on July 12.
