A week ago Future released his first solo project for the year titled Mixtape Pluto, following up on his collaboration albums with Metro Boomin, We Don't Trust You and We Still Don't Trust You.
The Atlanta star's new mixtape was delivered to streaming services on September 20, under an exclusive license to Epic Records and Sony Music Entertainment. Pluto's latest project hosts 17 full-length records with a complete runtime of 44 minutes.
According to Luminate, Mixtape Pluto sold close to 130,000 album-equivalent units in the United States, as on last Thursday. This resulted in the new mixtape debuting at the top of Billboard's 200 album charts, with Chappell Roan's The Rise And Fall Of A Midwest Princess and Sabrina Carpenter's Short n' Sweet placing at No.2 and No.3, respectively.
The album marks Pluto's third No.1 album in less than six months, beating a Billboard record previously held by The Beatles in 1965. The magazine also confirmed that since they began publishing, in 1957, "No Act" has achieved three number-one projects as fast as Future did in 2024.
With news media outlets online sharing Pluto's accomplishments across social media platforms, fans and critics have taken to X (formerly Twitter) to share their thoughts and opinions over Mixtape Pluto debuting at the top of Billboard 200. Future breaks Billboard record and earns his 11th No.1 album with 'Mixtape Pluto'
Future is officially the first rapper to achieve three separate No.1 albums in six months after his most recent solo LP Mixtape Pluto debuted at the top of Billboard's 200 album chart.
After selling 129,000 equivalent album units in Mixtape Pluto's first week alone, the 40-year-old artist earned his 11th No.1 album of his career. This achievement ties Pluto with artists like Eminem, Ye, Bruce Springsteen, and Barbra Streisand, for the fifth most number-one LPs on the Billboard 200.
Earning his third No.1 album in such a short time frame, Pluto also pushed past The Beatles to become the only musician to have multiple chart-topping projects released within 6 months. The Atlanta rapper broke this record held by the legendary UK band since 1965.
Pluto now comes in at third for artist's with the most Hot 100 hits, after charting 217 songs on the magazine's song charts. Taylor Swift and Drake currently hold the top spots, after charting 264 and 338 records, on Billboard Hot 100, respectively.
