In an exclusive interview with US Weekly on August 14, 2024, 50 Cent, aka Curtis James Jackson III, weighed in upon being asked about his relationship with money; he said he wasn't in any hurry to become a billionaire. The rapper claimed he didn't worry about money so much since he had crossed a lot of expectations of himself. He said,

"I don’t quantify the money like that — I quantify the level of successes and wins I’ve achieved. I have far exceeded anyone’s expectations of me..."

The rapper claimed he had been in the industry for a long time and had been quite successful, possibly surprising many. According to him, this was what kept him going.

50 Cent added:

"I’m not in a hurry to reach billionaire status. I’ve reached a point where I don’t want anything I don’t have. What's the rush is to get to that point? I’ve bought every car I wanted, multiple times over."

Netizens took a special interest in the rapper's statements and flooded the internet with their reactions. Some of the responses are:

"That's what the real definition of wealth is supposed to be."
"Well said, what purpose does it serve to obtain that level of wealth? There’s so much more to life, the evolution of 50 Cent has been dope to watch," read a comment.
"Won’t sell his soul. Good for him," added a tweet.

While 50 Cent received a lot of support from netizens, some comments weren't seemingly in favour. One user wrote,

"He’s not even close to being a billionaire anyways."
"He went bankrupt as a millionaire getting a billion will never happen," wrote a user.
"Damn 50 after all that his still not a billionaire," tweeted another netizen.

Exploring 50 Cent's career briefly amid his remarks about reaching a billionaire status

According to Celebrity Net Worth, 50 Cent has a net worth of $40 million, as updated in April 2024. Born in 1975 in Queens, Curtis Jackson III is a well-known name in the hip-hop industry. His debut album Get Rich or Die Tryin', released in February 2003, is still the most-selling rap debut album. The Final Lap Tour, conducted last year to celebrate the debut album, sold tickets worth more than $100 million.

Apart from being in the mainstream music industry, he has produced several movie projects and worked with several other brands and products. In the interview with US Weekly, he further expressed his feelings about being a billionaire. He said,

"Being a billionaire won’t be much different from where I am now. At that point, you have to figure out how to give back. You start building a legacy, doing more sophisticated things."

He further mentioned that he's currently "very rich", and the rapper was not referring to his finances. According to him, being rich in a real manner meant being surrounded by "good people." If 50 Cent becomes a billionaire, he would be the fourth figure in the hip-hop industry to do so after Jay-Z, Kanye West, and Diddy.
