Sauce Walka recently appeared in a video where he shared his reaction to the expensive shoes designed by Virgil Abloh. Notably, the price of the shoes, called Louis Vuitton Air Force 1s, is around $55,000, and the rapper additionally elaborated on why the shoes were wrongly priced.
Also known as Albert Walker Mondane, he was spotted speaking to a shop owner as he gave his opinion. Walka started by saying:
"In my personal opinion, I don't think no particular pair of shoes is worth $55,000. $55,000 is a car. $55,000 is a small business that could turn into a million-dollar business. I don't believe that no one pair of shoes is worth $50,000."
The shop owner on the other side stated that while sometimes people spend $50,000 to add their face to Billboard, others use the same money to purchase a shoe. Sauce Walka responded by saying that the rate is valid as a shop owner but "as a consumer, idiot." When the other person was asked about the best features of the shoe, he replied:
"So it's a friends and family colorway. It's the best of the friends and family colorway. I mean, you're talking about a shoe that in this size in this color may not even be, you know, we're talking single digits."
Albert described the same as imaginary and subjective and added:
"Gold is what gold costs. Diamonds is what diamonds cost. Cars is what cars cost. Even though the value depreciates and goes up and down, it's still a real asset. It's a shoe."
Sauce Walka criticizes Drake for not working with the artists of Houston
The 34-year-old appeared on The Breakfast Club on August 13, 2024, where he addressed a few words said by Charlamagne Tha God, who once claimed that Houston wouldn't exist without Drake. Sauce Walka referred to the same by criticizing Drake for not collaborating with any artist living in Houston.
Sauce Walka slammed Drake for having multiple collaborations with the artists of Atlanta and added:
"Because why? Not only did you know that the city of Atlanta was gonna look at you weird for not doing that; look at you and feel a certain type of way by you not making those songs and making those moments with their city."
Walka mentioned that Drake could have accumulated a lot of profit with the artists of Houston. He said that although Drake had a lot of love for Houston, he never called anyone to work with him. Walka additionally clarified that he was not trying to get a collaboration project with Drake.
The artist said that Drake remembers Houston only when he needs to work on his position in the market and continued:
"Travis Scott is the only rapper [from Houston] that got a song with Drake. It makes sense, it's an equal trade. If you are using the lineage and the culture of somebody's city or somebody's hometown and backyard, do something that helps not yourself or your notoriety, do something that makes the economy of that city and music bigger and greater."
Drake has not shared any response to Sauce Walka's words and further updates on the same are currently awaited.
