On Friday, August 23, footage of Playboi Carti's interaction with the law enforcement officials was leaked on the internet. The video, as reported by XXL Mag, dates back to 2022, when Atlanta cops pulled over Carti, Ken Carson, and a few others. It was discovered that the rapper was overspeeding at 84 miles per hour in an area where the speed limit was 30 miles per hour.

According to the leaked footage, the cops asked Playboi Carti to step out of the vehicle, while one of the girls said something unclear in the recording. When asked, Carti answered that he was returning from Gramercy Apartments and was hurrying to reach home. In the footage, Carti could further be heard saying:

"Boss, I ain't gonna lie I ain't never seen y'all right there. I've been trippin."

The cops then asked if he was driving fast just because there were no officers in the area usually, to which the rapper replied:

"I'm just being honest man, I'm just trying to get home."

Shortly after this, the rapper was seen asking the officers why his license didn't get suspended even after he got so many tickets. Before letting him go again, the police officers were just heard suggesting he drive slow and get an attorney.

The leaked 2022 footage has garnered massive attention online. Here are some of the reactions:

Playboi Carti had also gotten arrested for overspeeding in January 2022

XXL Mag reported that the incident captured in the leaked footage wasn't the first time that Playboi Carti got in trouble for overspeeding. In January 2022, he was allegedly found driving at a speed of 130 miles per hour in a zone where the limit was 55 miles per hour.

The footage of this was released at the time, and Carti was seen being pulled over and then detained by law enforcement officials. At that time, he claimed that he had an emergency that prompted him to overspeed. While talking to the cops, he said:

"It was an emergency. I got stuff going on with my family. I live in Buckhead, I'm trying to get somewhere."

He was taken into custody and after getting into the police vehicle, he reportedly told the officers that he was trying to get to the airport. Many netizens have reacted to the current footage where they made references to Playboi Carti's excuses after being pulled over.
