American singer Janet Jackson performed on July 8, at the 2024 Essence Fest. Prior to her performance, she also spoke to Essence.com and expressed her love for the event. Jackson said,
"The 30th anniversary of Essence, that's amazing. That's incredible."
Her performance, however, left the audience in awe, who have praised her wholeheartedly on social media. They have even acknowledged the energy that she possessed during her performance. Jackson performed several of her popular tracks including All For You and That's The Way Love Goes.

Janet Jackson explained her love for New Orleans shortly before her performance at the 2024 Essence Fest
The host city of 2024 Essence Fest holds a special place in singer Janet Jackson's heart. In the conversation with Essence.com, she stated that there were so many things that she loved about New Orleans, but music had to be the primary one. She spoke about performing at the Essence, and said,
"I think the one thing people can expect more of that they really never got, I talk a little bit more during this show than I normally do. So I've heard people say that they enjoy seeing my personality come during the show."
The Essence Fest 2024 began on July 4 and was set to end on Sunday, July 8, 2024. This festival is considered as one of the largest annual celebrations of Black culture. According to New Orleans Mayor Latoya Cantrell, the theme of the fest this year was "We Love Us."
The festival was expected to end with the performances of popular artists with a special tribute to soul band Frankie Beverly & Maze.
Several other artists were also scheduled to perform at the festival, including Victoria Monét, Teedra Moses, Dawn Richard, SWV, Jagged Edge, Bilal, and Anthony Hamilton.
