On October 13, a post was uploaded on X, formerly known as Twitter, by a handle named @nmcaviar, about popular rapper Nicki Minaj. According to the tweet, Nicki had been planning to take a break in her career after getting done with a few more engagements. The tweet read:

"Nicki Minaj announces she’s going on a hiatus."

This tweet was posted on the internet after the rapper reportedly shared the same on Stationhead. She then said:

"I am doing a hiatus. But I have the Vogue thing, which I’m very proud and honored to do, and a couple things and then I’ll be taking a little moment to reflect.."

On October 11, after wrapping up her Pink Friday 2 World Tour with the final concert at UBS Arena, she hinted at a career break at some point, as reported by AllHipHop.

The rapper, however, seemed to have changed her decision. After the viral tweet by @nmcaviar, Nicki clarified that she was not taking any break. In a tweet dated October 14, Nicki Minaj wrote:

More about Nicki Minaj's previous career breaks

This wasn't the first time that Nicki had mentioned a hiatus or taking a break from the music industry. While this time, she denied taking any such break, she had opted for it in the past.

In 2018, after the rapper released her fourth studio album titled Queen, Nicki decided to take a break. During this period while she had released a few standalone singles, she didn't drop any new album.

She made a massive comeback with her fifth album Pink Friday 2, which was released in December 2023.

Fans welcomed the artists with much warmth and excitement, after about five years. Then in 2019, Nicki Minaj took to social media where she declared that she was going to retire from the music industry. Nicki then mentioned that she wanted to prioritize her family more.

In a since-removed tweet shared in September 2019, as reported by The Guardian, Nicki wrote:

"I’ve decided to retire & have my family. I know you guys are happy now. To my fans, keep reppin me, do it til da death of me, ❌ in the box- cuz ain’t nobody checkin me. ✅ Love you for LIFE 😘♥️🦄."

At the time, it wasn't clear if she was going to for a temporary break, or if it was more permanent in nature. However, now it could be concluded that it wasn't permanent, since she's still a significant and active part of the music industry.

As for latest news about the Trinidadian rapper, she recently wrapped up her fifth concert tour on Friday.

She further expressed gratitude to her fans and every other one who attended her shows and made the tour a hit.
