Fugees member Pras had recently dissed Lauryn Hill after the US dates of their shows were canceled. He took a dig at Hill in his new track Bar Mitzfa. In the track, Pras rapped,
"Don’t blame me, blame her, she made the mess / Not another f**king penny is what I told ‘Clef."
TMZ was the first outlet to obtain the track and also claimed that it was written shortly after Lauryn Hill had canceled the upcoming shows in the US by blaming the media for low ticket sales.
The diss track had further garnered netizens' attention, who have since reacted on the same on social media platforms. Here are some of the online responses:
One netizen wrote,
"He’s literally on the beat just shooting the sh!t. Delivery was cheeks!"
"Lol now I see why the tour was canceled," added a tweet.
"Why a song?😭😭😭 just do an interview man," wrote another user.
Some netizens had a different perspective, where they stated that they liked the diss track and agreed with the Fugees member. One user wrote,
"I like it. It's like a jazz/slam poetry hybrid. It's something different."
"Bout time he got her, she been sneak dissin for too long," added a tweet.
Pras had also agreed to several fans expressing their frustration, by claiming that Hill's tendency of arriving late during shows had made them boycott the concerts. He even took to Instagram story to rant about the scenario and bash Lauryn Hill. He said,
"Nobody will remember click bait beefs, your salary, how many Gucci bags you owned, bogus excuses. People will remember: how you made them feel, if you kept your word, if they could count on you, if you come on time!!"
Pras bashed Lauryn Hill after she canceled the concerts in the US
As mentioned, Lauryn Hill had recently canceled the US shows, thus leaving Pras infuriated. The tour was meant to promote her 1998 debut album, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. Pras spoke to TMZ and said that he had tried to save her reputation for a long time now. He said,
"I saved her reputation for 20 years by not telling my side of the story. But oops… cat’s out the bag."
While initially people were confused with the abrupt cancelation, Hill later came up with a reason for the cancelation. According to her, the ticket sales were low due to how the media portrayed her. TMZ had further reported that Pras and Lauryn are not on great talking terms at the moment.
Coming back to the aforementioned diss track, he had also mentioned the fraud trial of last year, in which he received a guilty verdict. The rapper is, however, still out since the sentencing has not yet taken place.
As of now, Pras' Bar Mitzfa has been gaining mixed responses from listeners, in which many even called him out for going at Hill through a song rather than doing so through an interview.
