American singer-songwriter Al B. Sure had urged for an investigation into Kim Porter's death, about a week after Sean "Diddy" Combs got arrested. The singer shared a series of Instagram posts on his feed, in which he expressed his opinion on the entire situation related to Porter.
Sure further mentioned that he had been reaching out to a number of law enforcement agencies over time, to get updates on his late former wife Kim Porter's death. In one post, he wrote:
"I am writing this post to formally request an investigation into an entire group of individuals who worked at or around the residence of Ms. Kimberly Porter including the publicists who assisted drafting this."
He additionally mentioned:
"It has come to my attention that these persons were also instructed to steal her computer and mobile devices, which contained her ‘original book notes.'"
By book notes, Sure referred to the documents which were supposed to be involved in Porter's controversial memoir.
For the unversed, Diddy's on-again-off-again girlfriend Kim Porter and Al B. Sure got married in 1989 and it lasted for a year until they separated in 1990. Within the period, the duo welcomed their son Quincy Brown, who was later adopted by Diddy.
Al B. Sure didn't specifically mention Diddy's name in the posts, but spoke about the mogul's ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura
As aforementioned, the singer-songwriter had urged the law enforcement agencies to investigate Kim Porter's death. While Sure didn't mention Diddy in the series of posts, he seemed to have tried to establish a link between Porter's death and the settlement between Cassie Ventura and Diddy that happened last year.
In one of the posts, Sure wrote:
"Kimberly was allegedly taken from us because she was set on course to accomplish what Mrs. Cassie Ventura did by igniting the Bon Fire [sic] which brings us here today."
Just a day after Cassie filed a lawsuit against Combs, they reached an undisclosed settlement. She had accused Combs of physical and emotional abuse as well as r*pe. Later in May this year, the hotel footage capturing the music mogul physically assaulting Cassie went viral.
Sure had also shared excerpts from Porter's controversial memoir, which was published by Los Angeles producer Chris Todd. On Tuesday, September 24, 2024, Combs' lawyer Erica Wolf spoke to Billboard and claimed that the memoir was "fake." Wolf said:
"The Kim Porter ‘memoir’ is fake. It is also offensive – a shameless attempt to profit from tragedy. Chris Todd has no respect for Ms. Porter or her family, who deserve better..."
In an article dated September 24, published by Rolling Stone, it had been mentioned that the memoir publisher Todd had claimed that he couldn't guarantee the authenticity of the information published in the memoir.
Kim Porter was found dead in 2018 at her residence in Toluca Lake, California. She was reportedly suffering from "flu-like symptoms." While the coroner had first determined her cause of death to be "deferred", it was later changed to lobar pneumonia.
