Fitness company Peloton recently announced that it was dropping Sean “Diddy” Combs’ music from all their upcoming workouts, as per a statement on a private Facebook page, reported TMZ.

The announcement was later also available on the official website of the brand which read, “Peloton will no longer use Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ music & songs in new Peloton classes.”

In the wake of this, the internet has dished out varied reactions. For instance, an Instagram user with the handle @brittbratboone commented under @hollywoodunlocked’s post, seemingly calling out Diddy.

Several others joined in the conversation and have been reacting to Peloton’s removal of Combs’ music from its platform, with most lauding the exercise equipment brand for its move. Here are some of the reactions from the comment section of @PopCrave’s post on X.

“I look forward to reading news like this. Consequences for justice,” a person wrote.
“And they made the right choice,” another person wrote.
“About time,” a third person wrote.
“Good on Peloton,” an X user wrote.
“As they should,” one person wrote.
“It took long enough, didn’t it?” another person wrote.
“Welp I’m buying one just for that reason now!” a netizen wrote.
“Good riddance,” one person wrote.

Notably, Peloton took the step after several of their consumers raised concerns on social media, in the wake of Diddy’s viral video, where he was seen assaulting his former girlfriend Cassie in a March 2016 incident.

Peloton removed Diddy’s Bad Boy Entertainment Artist Series from its future workouts

On May 17, CNN released a previously unseen footage of Diddy and Cassie, in which the former appeared to be shoving the latter on the floor of a hotel hallway, kicking her, and later dragging her across the ground. The video could be traced to eight years back.

Since then, the clip garnered enough traction online with people across all spheres slamming the hip-hop magnate. Peloton users too joined the same and the message, “Dear Peloton, Your next purge needs to be all Diddy classes. Signed, women everywhere,” grabbed intensity.

In response, on May 20, the fitness brand announced that all of Sean Combs’ music had been removed from its workouts. It further issued a statement on social media that read:

“Thank you for sharing your concerns. We take this issue very seriously and can confirm Peloton has paused the use of Sean Combs’ music, as well as removed the Bad Boy Entertainment Artist Series on our platform. This means our instructors are no longer using his music in any newly produced classes.”

It also thanked the members of the Peloton community while clarifying on its website that the old classes with Diddy’s music will continue and only the “new classes moving forward” will be purged “for the time being.”

“The one exception to this is that classes from the two featured artists series that highlighted Bad Boy Entertainment are being removed. There were two different featured artist series for Bad Boy Entertainment – one in 2021 and another in 2023,” it added.

Notably, Sean Combs is not the first hip-hop star to be removed from Peloton. Earlier, in 2022, the brand paused Kanye West's music on its workouts in the wake of his alleged antisemitism, after requests were made by members.
