Sabrina Carpenter responded to Adele's comment on her latest song Espresso
After English singer-songwriter Adele sang a few lines of Espresso during her show, the original singer, Sabrina, expressed her joy with it. She reacted both on X and Instagram. During the Las Vegas residency show, Adele said,
"As I got into bed last night - 'cause that's a very late night for me, normally I'm in bed by 9 pm - I found myself singing, 'I'm working late, 'cause I'm a singer.' That Sabrina Carpenter song! 'I can't relate to desperation.' That song is my jam!"
She further explained her disappointment for not being able to sing the song along during its release since she was on a voice rest period then. The young singer expressed her happiness and excitement after this comment from Adele.
Espresso has already been a massive success after its release on April 11, 2024. Sabrina even performed it at the 2024 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival to promote the song. It debuted at number six on the UK Singles Chart and has already made it to the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart.
This is the second song that Sabrina Carpenter released this year. The first one, You Need Me Now?, released on March 22, 2024, involved Norwegian musician Girl in Red. This song secured number 40 on the US Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart. Her last studio album was Emails I Can't Send, released on July 15, 2022. This album was also successful, debuting at number 23 on the US Billboard 200.
