Emma Roberts and Cody John make their first public appearance at Summer Gala after getting engaged

Emma Roberts made her first public appearance with her fiance Cody John at the Summer gala after their engagement last week.

The Scream Queens actress announced her engagement with her then-boyfriend Cody John via an Instagram post in which she showed her brand new engagement ring.

“putting this here before my mom tells everyone," captioned Emma Roberts.

For those who don't know the context, Emma's mother, Kelly Cunningham, previously leaked the photo of her two-year-old son without her permission on Instagram, and Emma Roberts called her out a few days later.

On February 3, Kelly posted a photo of Emma's son Rhodes on Instagram with the caption, "Little man is growing up!" Six days later, her daughter shared her mother's post on her Instagram story with the caption:

“When your mom posts your sons face without asking but you love them both so whatever."

Kelly reacted to Emma Roberts' post and wrote, "The battle continues!! I love you Q!! Touche."

Emma Roberts and her ex, Garrett Hedlund, had their son Rhodes in December 2020. However, the actress had kept him out of the media limelight for a long time and had only posted photos of him where his face wasn't visible.
