In the tweet, she hinted at the release of a new album. As of now, Latto has released two albums: Queen of da Souf, which dropped in 2020, and 777. Apart from the two studio albums, the rapper has released three mixtapes and about 18 singles where she was the lead singer.

Latto wrote that her new album could "wash" her old tracks and also dissed her past music in a recent tweet

The Muwop singer recently took to X to reply to a post where the user categorized some of her songs into three sections—rap Latto, pop Latto, and R&B Latto—and asked fans what their preferences would be. The rapper replied, claiming that her past tracks "sucked" and also that her new album would be a lot better and, in fact, "wash" the old ones.

Fans are waiting for the American rapper to release a new album since her last album, 777, was released in 2022. Since then, she has dropped singles and made guest appearances in other songs too. Some of her hit single tracks include Put It on da Floor and Lottery, released in 2023, and Sunday Service, dropped this year.

Coming back to the rapper's current tweet, several fans have reacted with shock and excitement. The excitement was based on the rapper's subtle confirmation of an upcoming album. One user wrote,

"Oop! Okay now!! I’m excited lol."

Another one wrote,

"I can’t wait to hear this new music omg."

While several users expressed their excitement about the probability of some new music from the artist, some fans disagreed with Latto's opinions about her old music. A fan wrote,

"TAKE THAT BACK !! Sunday Service & Stepper & 777pt 1 , Lottery Andddd Put It On The Floor Up There."
"Ok girl we not gonna shade our classics!! These have kept us fed!" wrote yet another fan who seemed to have loved the rapper's old songs.

In 2023, the 25-year-old rapper featured in Jungkook's Seven, which topped the US Billboard Hot 100. The song also became more successful than other hits, like Taylor Swift's Cruel Summer and Miley Cyrus' Flowers. She also appeared in other tracks, including Offset's Fine As Can Be and Lyrical Lemonade's Special. While fans are desperately waiting for the rapper to drop some new music, she seemed to promise to do so in the May 16 tweet.

For the unversed, the rapper is mostly known for her tracks like B*tch from da Souf, Muwop, The Biggest, and Big Energy. B*tch from da Souf made it to the US Billboard Hot 100 and secured #95. She further made a cameo appearance in Cardi B's WAP. Previously known by the name 'Mulatto', she changed her stage name in January 2021.

Big Energy became a super hit after it became the artist's highest-charting song on the US Billboard Hot 100.

Latto has lately been involved in other activities

The Grammy nominated artist has currently been caught up in a lot of things. Recently, she made an appearance at the Chicago Sky and Dallas Wings’ season opener to extend support to Angel Reese. The artist is also working as a part of the marketing campaign for companies like Wing Stop and Just Eat.

Latto recently made the headlines after getting into a beef with Barbie World singer Ice Spice, while the Kendrick Lamar versus Drake feud was also going on. Both rappers seemingly took a dig at each other, and Ice Spice dropped Gimme A Light on May 10. However, Ice didn't confirm if the track was meant to diss the Lottery rapper.

Fans have to now wait till the Big Energy artist drops new music in the form of a new album after her last one, 777.
