Musical siblings Billie Eilish and Finneas have shared their election preference and endorsed Kamala Harris in her 2024 presidential bid.
The musicians shared a video on Instagram on Tuesday, September 17, which is also National Voter Registration Day, that they've picked Harris as their choice for the upcoming election. Eilish started the video, saying:
"We are voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz because they are fighting to protect our reproductive freedom, our planet and our democracy."
Meanwhile, fans shared their two cents about Eilish and Finneas making their election preference public in the comments.
"Another meaningful endorsement," an X user commented.
More social media users shared praise for the duo's choice to use their platform to support their preferred candidate.
"The choice has never been clearer. Thank you. Now let's sit back and watch someone blow a gasket," a fan on X said.
"Excited to see everyone getting involved! Harris-Walz is a fantastic choice for our future. Let's make our voices heard," another X user commented.
"Thank you for doing your part to get the vote out! We are fighting for our literal lives this November," another X user chimed in.
However, other netizens appeared skeptical of Billie Eilish and his brother's message. Some of them accused the duo of reading a script.
"Did Kamala HQ give you this script?," an X user asked.
"She says she's voting for Harris/Walz because they are fighting to save our Democracy, just shows they're reading a script and haven't actually got a clue about anything given how Kamala got into the race in the 1st place," an X user argued.
Billie Eilish and Finneas join the list of musical personalities endorsing Kamala Harris
Billie Eilish and Finneas have joined the growing list of musical A-listers who've made it known on social media that they are supporting Kamala Harris. Taylor Swift had endorsed Harris and Walz via an Instagram post she shared on September 11 after the presidential debate.
According to The Tortured Poets Department hitmaker, she will be casting her vote for Harris because "she fights for the rights and causes [she] believes need a warrior to champion them." As for Billie Eilish and his brother, they also shared in the Instagram reel why they are backing Harris. Finneas urged people not to let "extremists" take control of everyone's lives. He said:
"We can't let extremists control our lives, our freedoms, and our future. The only way to stop them and the dangerous Project 2025 agenda is to vote and elect Kamala Harris."
Elsewhere in the video, the Hit Me Hard and Soft musician also encouraged their fans to "vote like your life depends on it," because according to her, "it does." The duo also urged people to visit the "I will vote" website to check their voter registration ballot.
Besides Eilish, Finneas, and Swift, Bon Iver, Barbra Streisand, Megan Thee Stallion, and John Legend have also expressed their support for Harris and Walz. Beyonce has also given her permission to Harris to use her 2016 song Freedom in her campaign.
