LL Cool J recently described himself as the most important rapper which has grabbed a lot of attention on different platforms. The claim came when LL appeared for an interview on Apple Music's Le Code on November 28, 2024, as he stated:

"One day, people are going to realize that LL Cool J is the most important rapper that ever existed. I truly believe one day people are going to say that."

He made the statement when the host asked if he would like to have a movie about his life, which the rapper wasn't exactly in favor of. The host further noted LL's contributions to the music industry over the years. Also known as James Todd Smith, he has 14 albums in his credits, and his first major project, Radio, was released back in 1985.

Meanwhile, The Art of Dialogue shared a glimpse of James' statement and netizens took to the comments section of their post shared on X (formerly Twitter) to react. One of them wrote:

"Anyone who disagrees gotta be under 35."

Todd Smith's fans replied below the post, with most of them saying that what he said was right.

"He is 1000% correct, but unfortunately the newer generation doesn't care about things they didn't see in real time with social media," a user wrote on X.
"He is. And the way he's revitalized his career in multiple decades needs to be studied," another user on X stated.
"LL Cool J has a really strong argument when you look at his resume," one person mentioned.

Furthermore, people even addressed Smith's work in the world of hip-hop, with a user calling him the greatest of all time.

"He's the stone cold of Hip Hop," a user reacted on X.
"He was very important in shaping hip hop for sure….," another user wrote on X.
"The real GOAT," another reaction reads.
