Liam Gallagher has expressed his thoughts on Saturday Night Live mocking the feud between him and his brother, Noel Gallagher, in their Oasis skit on "Weekend Update" on October 13. In the comments of one of Liam's posts, a fan asked if he'd seen the skit.
The Champagne Supernova vocalist wasn't so amused with the SNL skit, and it prompted a savage one-liner for the Manchester native, which reads:
"Are they meant to be comedians?"
The Weekend Update skit featured Saraha Sherman and James Austin Johnson, with Sherman playing Liam and Johnson playing Noel. As seen in the segment, the Liam and Noel characters are chatting with segment host Colin Jost.
At one point, Jost asks the Noel character if they would be okay to coexist with each other while on the road.
Johnson, playing Noel Gallagher, replied, 'I'm cool if he's cool,' which prompted Sherman, playing Liam Gallagher, to say, 'I'm cool...I'm cool. I'm cooler than you are.'
Jost then said, 'Great, so that's a no," leading Sherman to reply, 'It's not a hard no, it's a maybe.' Johnson then clarified, 'We said maybe...if Liam doesn't act like a baby.'
Throughout the three-minute skit, the Noel and Liam Gallagher characters play-fight with each other, stick their tongues out at the other, and parody lyrics from their massive hit song, Wonderwall.
However, with Liam's one-liner response to a clip of the sketch, it appears that he didn't find SNL's portrayal of him and his brother that funny.
Noel and Liam Gallagher previously shocked fans with an Oasis reunion tour
Besides being an iconic rock duo, Noel and Liam Gallagher made headlines when they announced in August that they were reuniting for a 14-date tour across the UK and Ireland in 2025.
The brothers shared the news on Instagram alongside a black and white picture of themselves, writing:
"The guns have fallen silent. The stars have aligned. The great wait is over. Come see. It will not be televised."
A subsequent post confirmed the OASIS Live 25 world tour as well as the places where the concerts will take place and the date for when the tickets go live. Initial announcements mentioned that the band would visit Cardiff, Manchester, Kindon, Edinburgh, and Dublin.
The rock band has since added an American leg to their tour, which they announced in September via Instagram, saying:
"America. Oasis is coming. You have one last chance to prove that you loved us all along."
Noel and Liam Gallagher added five new stadium dates for their American tour, including Chicago, New Jersey, Los Angeles, Toronto, and Mexico City.
The rock band's reunion came about 15 years after the group split in 2009 after several years of infighting. Noel Gallagher officially left Oasis before they were scheduled to perform at a festival near the French capital.
Noel, the band's guitarist and songwriter, mentioned that he "simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer" in a statement at that time.
While their reunion tour would be the first for Oasis fans to see the Gallagher brothers together onstage after their split, they both regularly perform hit Oasis songs in their solo performances.
