"Are you still his Beyonce?"- Fans react to DeJ Loaf's viral tweets in wake of Lil Durk's arrest

A now-deleted tweet by Lil Durk's former girlfriend DeJ Loaf has created quite a stir on social media. In the wake of the Chicago rapper's arrest on murder-for-hire charges on Thursday, DeJ Loaf took to X on Friday and wrote:

"Free Mine".

The 33-year-old rapper later deleted the tweet, but not before some eagle-eyed fans noticed the post. They interpreted Loaf's words as a demand to free Durk from custody. X user @janettiiee tagged DeJ Loaf and wrote:

"we seen that post girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Responding to the tweet, Loaf further penned:

"As you should’ve! I said what I said!"

Though she did not confirm if her tweet was meant for Durk, netizens soon chimed in with their thoughts. Referring to Durk and Loaf's 2015 hit My Beyoncé, one X user jokingly asked:

"Are you still his Beyonce??"

Many brought up Lil Durk's girlfriend India Royale, joking that DeJ Loaf's tweet might have angered her.

Lil Durk and DeJ Loaf dated for about two years before parting ways in 2016

DeJ Loaf and the Chicago rapper were first linked to one another in August 2014 after being spotted together several times. They began working on a few tracks in 2015 and reportedly spent more time with one another.

The former pair also confirmed their relationship in December of the same year as they shared a kiss on stage during a 106 & Party performance.

In an interview with XXL Magazine published on May 26, 2016, Lil Durk was asked about her relationship with DeJ Loaf:

"We good. We’re politicking and talking. It’s just she [is] super busy, I’m super busy and we need some time together so we can grow," he responded.

Addressing the first time he met DeJ Loaf, Durk said:

"It was in New York, it was at Bobby Shmurda and French Montana’s video. The remix to “Hot N***a” and she came and we was talkin’. She was all shy. I was laid-back too. The first time I met her, we just exchanged contacts."

Durk and Loaf ended their romance in 2016. DeJ Loaf was asked in an XXL Magazine interview published on January 24, 2017, if she and Lil Durk remained friends. Loaf responded:

"Yeah, he just hit me up. That’s my guy."

Lil Durk began dating India Royale in 2017 and the couple has been on-and-off since then. They welcomed their daughter Willow in October 2018.
