Ariana Grande discussed embracing her old songs in the recent episode of Hot Ones show that aired on August 8, 2024.

During the talk show's season finale episode, host Sean Evens asked the guest singer about the songs she wouldn't mind retiring if fans didn't love to hear them so much. Ariana replied that it is a natural thing that all artists can relate to. She added that there was a time when she found it difficult to feel gratitude for certain songs:

"Becoming a pop star is insane at 19 or 20, and I think that experience was sort of married to some of the songs a little bit. Or some of the songs that are more emotional, the experience that inspired them can be married to the music."

However, Grande mentioned that with "time and therapy" she was able to re-embrace her music:

"But with time and therapy, we sort of are able to re-embrace, so I feel just really proud and grateful and happy when I hear them, where as I used to maybe hear it and cry.”

Ariana Grande on feeling proud of her music

While talking about re-embracing the music she created during a stressful time, Ariana Grande added that she now feels proud and thankful every time she listens to her songs, as compared to the old times. The singer said that earlier she used to "hear it (songs) and cry."

Shedding light on becoming a pop star at an early age, Grande shared her experience of working on Break Free song which was released in August 2014 when she was just 21 years old. The singer stated that she didn't want to do the intonation of "say I don't want ya" but producer Max Martin pushed her to do it and the specific intonation got the song to the record.

Ariana Grande, who dropped her recent album Eternal Sunshine in March 2024, discussed how she feels about "unreleased music leaks" after a few studio clips of her song Fantasized were leaked on TikTok.

The artist expressed she's trying to understand how people get access to music leaks. Ariana Grande said that although it is "disheartening" and "disappointing," she's also grateful to receive so much love from her fans that they want more of her.

"Whether it’s like videos or pictures or audio, songs… So it’s conflicting because that is very frustrating and feels very dehumanizing, and then the other side is like, but I’m so grateful to be an artist that people care about, and my fans want more of me.”

So far, Ariana Grande has released over seven studio albums, two compilation albums, one live album, two extended plays, fifty-four singles, and fifteen promotional songs.
