On August 25, Canadian rapper Drake seemingly teased restarting his rap battle with longtime rival Kendrick Lamar on his Finsta account @plottttwistttttt. On one of its Stories, the Finsta shared the iconic 2004 interview by former basketball star Rasheed Wallace, in which he declared that his team the Detroit Pistons would beat the Indiana Pacers.
"Y’all put it on the front page, back page, middle of the page... we will win Game 2," Wallace said.
Drake’s Finsta also shared a Story featuring a picture from the 1986 action-crime movie A Better Tomorrow, which further hinted that the So Far Gone rapper was perhaps planning a round 2 of his infamous feud with K-Dot.
In the wake of these now-viral posts, the internet has varied reactions. For instance, X user @_VishwajitPatil commented on NFR Podcast’s post containing Drake’s Finsta Stories by writing:
“At least he’s admitting he lost.”
Several others joined the conversation on the platform and shared similar reactions, claiming that it was way past the time to restart their beef.
“Game 2??? Who gonna tell him the finals over,” a person wrote.
“There is no game 2. They already went to game 7,” one person wrote.
“Man, please! That series is over,” another person wrote.
Others mocked Drizzy saying he was dragging the feud and was about to “embarrass” himself.
“He’s just gonna embarrass himself even more,” a netizen wrote.
“I like how Drake ain’t letting this beef die off. We dragging it to eternity,” one netizen wrote.
Some claimed that there was no need for ‘Game 2’ as he lost the previous one.
“Game 2???? Bro you already lost the series,” an individual wrote.
“He lost game one, he should just leave it already,” another individual wrote.
Drizzy and Kendrick Lamar’s feud this year began in March and lasted until May, during which the former released diss tracks including Push Ups, Taylor Made Freestyle, Family Matters, and The Heart Part 6. Likewise, K-Dot dropped diss tracks Like That, Euphoria, 6:16 in LA, Meet the Grahams, and Not Like Us.
Drake recently dropped more music on his Finsta
Before reportedly teasing that he was gearing up for a second round of rap battle with Kendrick Lamar, Drake dropped three previously unreleased songs via his Finsta account @plottttwistttttt on Friday, August 23, including Sod, Circadian Rhythm (The Language 2), and No Face featuring Atlanta rapper Playboi Carti.
Sod appears to be an edited version of the previously leaked track Super Soak featuring rapper Lil Yachty. Earlier this month, Yachty leaked his Drake collab with the help of online streamer and influencer Kai Cenat.
At the time, Lil Boat claimed that the song sampled Mr_Hotspot’s 2022 single Goodness Gracious, but the latter refused to clear it as it contained lyrics that went against his current religious beliefs.
In the wake of this, Mr_Hotspot took to his social media and cleared the air saying that he sent a cleaner version of his track to Drake and Lil Yachty, and would permit them to use it in their edited Super Soak version.
While it remains unknown what happened thereafter, the latest remake titled Sod is a solo by Drizzy and has no feature from Yachty. Notably, the One Night rapper unfollowed Drake on Instagram a couple of weeks back.
Earlier this month, Champagne Papi dropped 100 GB worth of content on his Finsta comprising of behind-the-scene videos, unseen album covers, recording session clips, and three tracks including It’s Up featuring Young Thug and 21 Savage, Blue Green Card, and Housekeeping Knows featuring Latto.
