Authorities release Justin Timberlake's "glassy eyed" mugshot as NSYNC singer reportedly admits to drinking before driving

The Sag Harbor Police Department officially released Justin Timberlake's mugshot after the 43-year-old singer was arrested for driving his BMW in the Hamptons while intoxicated early on Tuesday, June 18.

The former NSYNC member was pulled over by the police around 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday for a traffic violation, according to authorities. It came after the singer didn't stop his car at a "duly posted stop sign" and was seen swerving on the road. When he was stopped by the officer, the police report filed in court noted:

"Upon contact with [Timberlake], it was ascertained that [he] was operating said vehicle in intoxicated conditions, in that his eyes were bloodshot and glassy, a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emanating from his breath, he was unable to divide attention, he had a slow speech, he was unsteady afoot, and he performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests."

The incident occurred after he spent a night drinking with friends at the Sag Harbor, where he admittedly said that he had "one martini" and was following his friends home. Police statement further noted that the singer refused to take a breathanalyser.


Justin Timberlake spent a night in jail after DWI arrest

The Sexyback singer was held overnight in jail as he awaits arraignment after he was seen swerving in his car and later charged with a DWI. Along with a DWI charge, Timberlake was also cited with two counts of traffic violations for running a stop sign and "failure to stay in a proper lane of travel."

The latest official statement from the Sag Harbor Police Department noted:

"Mr. Timberlake was placed under arrest, processed, and held overnight for morning arraignment. Mr. Timberlake was arraigned at the Sag Harbor Village Justice Court on June 18, 2024, at 9:30 a.m., where he was released on his own recognizance."

After his arraignment, the singer was seen leaving the police station, keeping a low profile wearing a black baseball cap and sunglasses.

A court date for the Justin Timberlake has been set and he is due back in court on July 26. Although the musician will not have to personally attend the procedure.

It is not the first time that Timberlake courted news headlines for excessive drinking. He was previously the star of a 2019 scandal after being inebriated. A video of him, drunk and stumbling while holding hands with actress Alisha Wainwright, his Palmer co-star at the time, went viral.

There has been no comment from Justin Timberlake about his latest run-in with the law yet. Meanwhile, the Bye Bye Bye singer is currently on his Forget Tomorrow World Tour. He's scheduled to play at the United Center on Friday and Saturday.
