Gucci Mane is trending in the headlines after he announced some changes to his company, 1017 Records. Notably, various artists have worked under the label over the years, including Waka Flocka Flame, Migos, Chief Keef, and Asian Doll.

Meanwhile, the rapper shared a video through his official Instagram page on October 18, 2024, where he was sitting in his car having a drink. The caption reads:

“1017 roster PSA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

Gucci Mane said in the clip that he has contacted all the artists working with the record label, saying that they can “take their talents elsewhere” as per their wish. He continued by saying:

“When I’m looking at my P&L, and me being a businessman, I’m thinking that I’m going to have to release almost all my artists except for Pooh Shiesty and Foogiano. This is a decision I didn’t want to make.”

Despite removing most of his artists except two, Mane said that he is looking for new artists to join his company, adding that they would “pair with Pooh and Foo.” He mentioned that he would prioritize bringing in new artists for the label.

While Gucci Mane’s clip went viral on different platforms, netizens took to the comments section of a post shared through the official page of Ahmed, also known as Big Business, on X (formerly Twitter) to share their reactions. One of them wrote:

People seemingly expressed their disappointment with Gucci Mane’s decision in the post.

“Damn the curse of Gucci Manes label continues,” a user on X wrote.
“Signing to Gucci is crazy anyway on so many levels,” a reaction reads.
“Top 5 Worst CEO’s of all time,” another user mentioned.

A section of the public also pointed out that a few artists working for the record label passed away a long time ago and are involved in some legal issues.

“They’re all dead or in prison. Cursed label,” a netizen on X mentioned.
“Aren’t all of them dead?” an X reaction reads.
“Didn’t almost all of his other artists die?” a user reacted.

A user also appreciated the fact that the removed artists don’t have to work for the label anymore along with another person addressing the possible reason why Mane was willing to sign new artists.

“Good the others have a chance at living full lives now lol,” another reaction on X reads.
“Mane said he tired of losing money on trash artists lol. He need fresh talent that’s starving,” a netizen wrote.

Gucci Mane will appear at the Atlanta Hawks season opener

Also known as Radric Delantic Davis, his latest album Breath of Fresh Air came out last year. While Mane has not announced a new project, he will perform at the Opening Night halftime show for the Atlanta Hawks at State Farm Arena on Wednesday, October 23.

According to Fox 5 Atlanta, Davis was once described as “one of the most influential rappers of the past decade” by the basketball team. Furthermore, Mane expressed his happiness about getting a chance to perform at the place while speaking to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. He said:

“The energy is always electric at State Farm Arena, and I am sure to put on a performance that will be incredibly memorable for all Hawks’ fans.”

Notably, Mane also shares a close relationship with the venue since he popped the question to his wife Keyshia Ka’oir in 2016 at the same place. The pair exchanged vows the following year and the marriage was also streaming live on BET at the time.

Keyshia has gained recognition over the years as a model and entrepreneur and even launched a makeup company called Ka’Oir Cosmetics. She is a mother of two children from her marriage to Gucci Mane.
