An internet conspiracy theory claiming that Beyonce had something to do with Wendy Williams' onset of dementia and aphasia has gone viral. In 2023, Wendy Williams was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia and progressive aphasia.
Aphasia is defined as a condition that affects one's ability to speak, write, and understand languages, according to Mayo Clinic. Aphasia can happen due to stroke or severe head injuries and can sometimes lead to dementia.
Another report by the Alzheimer's Association defines frontotemporal dementia as a disease that affects the nerves of the frontal and temporal lobes of the brain. These lead to the loss of function in those areas, disrupting motor function and movement.
In 2011, Wendy Williams alleged that Queen Bey was using a prosthetic baby bump in her talk show. The former television personality went on to show footage from an Australian talk show in which her baby bump seemed to crumple and twist under the pop icon's dress.
"What is that? Is that a baby bump? I don't know," said Williams.
Williams claimed she couldn't sit like Queen Bey when she was pregnant because she was worried about her back and the baby. In a video on X, user @BGatesIsaPyscho connected Williams' dementia with the television hostess speaking about Beyonce's baby bump. The video included the words:
"What happens after messing with Beyonce and Jay-Z."
It is crucial to note that there is no evidence verifying the claim. Moreover, Williams was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia and aphasia in 2023, 12 years after she spoke about Queen Bey's baby bump on her talk show (2011).
Wendy Williams once called out Beyonce's alleged Oscar snub for Lion King

Wendy Williams expressed her disappointment over the exclusion of Beyonce from the 2020 Oscar nominations for her performance in Lion King. In July 2019, Queen Bey lent her voice to Nala in the photo-realistic remake of 1994's The Lion King.
Directed by Justin Favreau, the film boasted a cast list including Donald Glover, Alfie Woodard, Seth Rogen, Eric Andre, Keegan-Michael Key, JD McCrary, Jeames Earl Jones, Billy Eichner, Shahidi Wright, John Kani, and Queen Bey herself.
The film amassed $1.6 billion worldwide during its theatrical run, breaking a cohort of box-office records. At the time, it held the records for the highest-grossing animated film of all time and the seventh-highest-grossing film of all time.
Despite her exploits with the film, Queen Bey didn't get an Oscar nomination - something that was pointed out by Wendy Williams in the January 13, 2020, episode of her talk show. She expressed her disappointment over Queen Bey not getting nominated, saying:
“Her and JAY-Z are probably like, ‘How dare these people.’ Beyonce, they’re jealous of you too.”
In addition to her performance as Nala, Queen Bey's song Spirit from the film didn't make it to the nomination list of Best Original Song.
In the same episode, Wendy Williams spoke about Jennifer Lopez not being nominated for her 2019 film Hustlers. Despite a critically acclaimed performance, JLo didn't get an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress.
