Halle Bailey took to her Instagram story on October 12 to seemingly tease a breakup song. Internet users have assumed that the song will discuss her recent split from her baby's father and rapper DDG. However, it is worth noting that The Little Mermaid actress did not confirm the same at the time of writing this article.
The singer-actress took to the internet to share a clip of an unreleased song. It appeared as if she was in the recording studio. One could hear a voice, assumed to be hers, in the background singing:
“My everything breaking my heart in two.”
Instagram page and news outlet Baller Alert clarified that it remains uncertain whether the recording Halle Bailey uploaded online was an old recording she had created before the split.
Halle Bailey and DDG went public with their relationship in January 2022 after being spotted together at Usher’s Las Vegas concert. On January 6, 2024, the former took to social media to announce that she and DDG had welcomed their son Halo to the world.
Meanwhile, internet users took to social media to react to the short clip. One netizen claimed that Bailey’s mentor Beyoncé likely inspired her to create a heartbreak song following her split. The internet user said:
"Yessssss. Beyoncé taught her right. It's giving."
Several others took to the social networking site to express similar sentiments. While some cheered her on to release the track, others were weary of the song being related to DDG.
Other users commented that it was impossible to assess what the song was about only from the seconds-long recording. Many trolled other netizens for making assumptions about the song this early.
Neither Bailey nor DDG have addressed their breakup at the time of writing this article. Meanwhile, other reactions read:
