With the elections being held today, on November 5, 2024, Rihanna took to Instagram just a day before the voting day and made it clear that her choice would be Kamala Harris if she could vote. Adding the hashtag, #VoteCauseICan’t, Rihanna, who is not yet a US citizen, uploaded a video of herself looking out of the car’s window. She added the following text to her post :

“Pov: Me trying to sneak into the polls with my son’s passport.”

As the singer posted the video and encouraged the masses to vote, she was asked by a netizen in the comment section—how was she able to live in the country without being a citizen. In response, the singer wrote:

“Taxes, dummy!”

Rihanna was born and brought up in Barbados: More details explored

Rihanna AKA Robyn Rihanna Fenty was born in Saint Michael, Barbados, in February 1988. Her mother is an Afro-Guyanese, and her father is a Barbadian, who is of African, Irish and Scottish descent. Having been born and brought up in Barbados, the Umbrella singer auditioned for Def Jam in New York City in 2005.

Furthermore, this is not the only time she posted on social media to urge netizens to vote, as back in November 2018, she reposted an election day post originally made by Shaun King, where he shared details about the voter registrations for 15 states.

Encouraging people to vote, the singer wrote at the time:

“It’s Election Day, America!! The most important day for the rest of your lives… all you have is right now! TODAY!! If you’re tired of complaining about the state of the country and government, get up and do something about it.”

Another user commented and asked Rihanna out of “curiosity,” if she is a “US citizen.” To this, RiRi responded back then:

“Nah, I’m an immigrant tryna get yo country together. Did u vote?”

Rihanna is currently enjoying the success of her beauty brand, Fenty, which was launched in 2017. She later also introduced a lingerie brand, Savage X Fenty in 2018, and then launched Fenty Skin in July 2020. The singer recently unveiled her hair care brand too, called Fenty Hair in June 2024.

While the singer dropped her last album titled Anti in 2016, she has been popular for her songs such as Shut Up and Drive, I Hate That I Love You, Umbrella, Don’t Stop the Music, Rehab and even Te Amo.
