Billy Ray Cyrus accuses ex Firerose of trying to isolate him from family, alleging she begged him for reconciliation after he filed for divorce

Billy Ray Cyrus recently accused his ex, Firerose, of "conducting a campaign to isolate" him from his family by blocking communication with "at least one of his daughters." On Monday, June 17, 2024, the country singer filed an amendment to his initial divorce complaint submitted last month. Per PEOPLE, the court filings read:

"Since the Plaintiff filed his initial complaint, he discovered that the Defendant had been conducting a campaign to isolate the Plaintiff from his family. He has discovered that the Defendant, unknowingly to Plaintiff, blocked at least one (1) of his daughters from being able to contact him on his phone(s) or electronic devices."

In his filing, Billy cited "irreconcilable differences and inappropriate marital conduct" as the reason for their split after seven months of marriage.

Cyrus' amendment comes just days after Firerose filed a counter-complaint accusing the 62-year-old singer of "extreme verbal, emotional, and psychological abuse." It claimed that Cyrus was prone to substance abuse, which made him "unpredictable and volatile." Firerose further alleged that he chose to file for divorce just one day before she was set to undergo a preventative double mastectomy.

In addition to claims of isolation, the singer alleged his wife lied about being married twice before, claimed "Hodges" was her maiden name, and tried to use Billy Ray Cyrus to further her career. He claimed she had made 37 unauthorized charges on his business credit card since he filed for divorce.

Per a Page Six report, Billy Ray Cyrus claimed Firerose begged for him to come back and reconcile just days after he filed for divorce via a note. He also shared an alleged lengthy text message by her with the publication stating she missed him and that her heart was "shattered," asking him to give her a chance to make it right.

The country singer married Tish Cyrus in 1993, and they share five kids: Noah, Braison, Brandi, Trace, and Miley. The couple filed for divorce in April 2022, citing "irreconcilable differences." At the time, an E!News article reported a "strained" relationship between Miley and her father.

Rumors escalated in August 2023 after Noah and Braison were absent from Tish's wedding to Dominic Purcell, where Miley was the Maid of Honor.

Just months after his divorce, Billy Ray Cyrus announced his engagement to Australian singer Firerose. Around the time, eagle-eyed fans figured Miley and Billy unfollowed each other on social media. When the couple married in 2023, Mley was not present.

During her acceptance speech after winning her first Grammy, Miley left out her father, Noah, and Braison.

"Everyone that's standing on this stage right now— Tom, Tyler, Michael, and Greg. Our teams, my team, Crush, Columbia, my mommy, my sister, my love, my main gays because look how good I look," she said during her speech. "Anyone else? Your wife, your fiancée, all the people that we love. Thank you all so much. I don't think I forgot anyone. But I might have forgotten underwear. Bye!"

Earlier this month, Billy Ray Cyrus shared an IG post dedicated to his daughter with the caption,

"I’m incredibly proud of her. She's a survivor and a true artist. She learned early on to love and appreciate the fans who make everything possible."

Neither Miley nor her father have publicly acknowledged the rumors.
