In a video clip that surfaced on X (formerly Twitter), on Sunday morning (January 12), Blueface's mother, Karlissa Saffold, hinted at her son being too rich to fight the ongoing LA wildfires.

"They making Blue go fight fire... They all make rich n***as fight fires, man. They might make your son firght fire, though, not mine. They might make yours. He paying his taxes to be in there, okay, he in rehab. My son is in jail rehab. He's taken a break from life."

Saffold went on to claim that jail was just a "rehabilitation center" in the video, asking a bystander why he was laughing at her, then adding, "Don't be trying to play with my baby" before sipping her drink.

Karlissa's statement comes as over 900 volunteering prisoners across facilities in California were assigned to battle the LA wildfires alongside the firefighters. Her son, Blueface, is also serving in one of the Californian prisons - the North Kern State Prison in Delano. Whether or not the Famous Cryp rapper is truly fighting fires across the state is not confirmed at the moment.

Blueface was arrested for his probation violation last year

Karlissa Saffold's statement comes months after the 27-year-old rapper was arrested for a fourth time in January 2024. Per a Fox 11 News article published on August 11, 2024, the Holy Moly rapper was booked into the Van Nyes jail on January 12 for violating his probation.

His sentencing came seven months later, in August 2024, when the judge sentenced him to four years in prison for probation violation in connection to his 2021 assault on a security guard at a North Hollywood lounge.

According to TMZ, Wack 100, Blueface's manager, alleged that he was able to get the sentence of the Bussin rapper suspended in 2023, with three years of probation. But being caught with drug paraphernalia could force the judge's hand into giving the rapper the maximum sentence.

Despite the four-year sentence the Traphouse rapper received in August, Wack seemed confident that Blueface would be home in roughly ten months, especially since he had already served 440 days.

Blueface's father seemed to fight back tears when he heard the news in court, while his mother appeared to be stronger. She later thanked the Dead Locs rapper's fans, reassuring them that her son had turned over a new leaf behind bars.

In November 2024, Blueface revealed a new look from the prison as he debuted new face tattoos in a video, which appeared to be a birthday wish for the sister of one of his prison mates. According to a BET article (published November 25), the video was circulated across social media, with Karlissa expressing her disapproval in a publicly shared text message. Saffold's message read:

"Your kids are suffering. Javaughn’s confidence has fallen, and you playing arts and crafts on your face is diabolical."

Saffold also urged Blueface to pull himself together and prioritize his responsibilities as a father. As the 27-year-old is behind bars, so is his former girlfriend and the mother of his son, Chrisean Rock. Rock is serving a sentence in Oklahoma over drug charges, Fox11 News reports.

While Blueface's involvement in the prisoners' volunteer firefighting has not been confirmed, the condition of the LA wildfires continues to worsen, with two of the biggest fires in the state only 30% contained after nearly a week. The strengthening winds across the state are likely to make matters worse, as predicted by the National Weather Service (NWS). Rich Thomspon from the NWS has claimed that the combination of wind and dry conditions could cause the situation to worsen.
