Morgan Wallen has left his fans disappointed after he canceled his Tampa show last moment due to an alleged sickness. The show was all set to start, and the gates were about to be opened for the ticket holders, however, Morgan ended up canceling the show just an hour before it was scheduled to start.
Morgan Wallen then announced on X (formerly Twitter), that the show scheduled for July 12, 2024, has now been moved to a later date, and stated that he would now be performing for the fans in Tampa on October 4, 2024.
Apart from this, he also announced that his shows scheduled next week in Charlotte have also been moved to a later date in October. He stated:
“I hate to reschedule shows but I powered through being sick in Tampa last night, and unfortunately woke up feeling way worse today. I would not give you guys anywhere near 100% tonight and as a result, I need to move tonight's Tampa show to Oct. 4 and next week's Charlotte shows to Oct. 18 and 19."
However, his cancellation left fans infuriated as many commented how they traveled all the way from far-off destinations to see him perform. One social media user commented on Morgan Wallen’s post and said:
“Drove all the way to Tampa for the show to be cancelled bout to throw this chair off the roof.”
On the other hand, other angered fans also bashed him in the comments section stating how Morgan Wallen should have informed the ticket holders in advance about the cancellation.
“You woke up at 2:45 in the afternoon? Sounds like a wicked hangover. Being a mediocre country singer sounds awesome. Well done dude. You screwed your fans again,” one person said.
“U gonna refund the money for the 1000$ tickets I bought???” another person said.
“Thanks for the last minute notice!! I just threw a chair at the local bar...WTF!!” one fan wrote.
“Bro canceled shows more than fast food workers call out of work,” another X user said.
“Brooo im selling my tickets now. This is the 2nd time you did this to me in a year,” another person commented.
Jelly Roll performed spontaneously in Tampa to fill up for Morgan Wallen
As fans had already reached the venue, and many were already in the line for the gates to open, the cancellation left many disappointed. However, Jelly Roll came to their rescue, who then announced on X that he was trying “hard to put together something.” He then ended up performing for the people who had already reached the venue.
On the other hand, Morgan is now scheduled to perform on July 25 and 26, 2024 in Arlington, Texas, and then on August 1 and 2, 2024 in Kansas City. In the month of August, he will also be performing in Las Vegas, and then performing for Tampa, and Charlotte in October 2024.
Morgan Wallen's shows can also be attended in other cities and countries like Stockholm, Oslo, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Glasgow, and Dublin in the months of August and September.
As Morgan Wallen canceled his show last minute, many social media users left comments and stated how it was not his first time doing so. This is because he canceled another show at the University of Mississippi’s Vaught Hemingway Stadium in 2023. As per the Tampa Bay Times, at the time, a security guard was caught saying that Wallen was “too drunk to sing.”
However, nothing of the sort was confirmed, and the reason of voice issues was given by his representatives. Furthermore, BEST Crowd Management denied the claims of their employed Guard through an Instagram story in April 2023. It was even shared by Seth England, CEO of Wallen's label Big Loud Records.
On the other hand, the singer has not yet responded to the recent bashing comments, as social media users continue to pour in comments on Wallen’s post.
