American comedian Steve Harvey recently deleted a 2017 post on X (formerly Twitter) in which he praised Sean "Diddy" Combs for doing "a world of good" for kids. Harvey's removal of the post came after the hip-hop mogul was arrested on charges of s*x trafficking and racketeering, along with facing multiple allegations of s*xual assault.
Harvey's original tweet from 2017 read:
"My brother @diddy is doing a world of good for these kids."
Fans quickly noticed Steve Harvey deleting his post praising Combs and took to X to react, with many poking fun at how the post did not age well. One X user wrote:
"boy that tweet did NOT age well man😭😭"
Several other netizens expressed similar sentiments on the social media platform.
"wouldn’t you delete too?" a fan added.
"The whole Hollywood is so cooked rn," another user joked.
"what did diddy do to him," an individual chimed in.
Reactions continued to pour in as fans poked fun at the tweet's deletion.
"at this point deleting tweets is worst you can do," an X user mentioned.
"It’s too late buddy 💀," another fan quipped.
"Why does everyone have something to do with Diddy," a person commented.
Apart from Steve Harvey, several other celebrities, including Usher and Pink, were speculated to have deleted most of their social media posts on Sunday (September 22) following Combs' arrest.
However, Usher later clarified that his account was hacked and reinstated his posts. Meanwhile, Pink never confirmed her intentions behind the deletion of her posts, leaving fans to speculate a possible connection with Sean Combs' arrest.
What are the charges faced by Sean Diddy Combs?
On September 16, 2024, Sean Diddy Combs was arrested and charged with three counts of s*x trafficking and racketeering. Since then, the rapper has been in custody with pleas of bail denied.
According to the indictment dated September 17, prosecutors claimed that Combs and his team allegedly abused and coerced multiple men and women “to fulfill his s*xual desires.” The rapper allegedly forced victims to engage in group s*xual activities and recorded them. These meet-ups were dubbed "Freak-Offs."
The charges date back to November 2023, when Combs' former girlfriend, Cassie Ventur, filed a lawsuit accusing him of s*xual assault, physical abuse, and r*pe during their relationship between 2007 and 2018.
As per her lawsuit, Combs forced her into his “ostentatious, fast-paced, and drug-fueled lifestyle” since she first met him. Ventura was 19 years old at that time, while Combs was 37. The model alleged Combs r*ped her in 2018 in his Los Angeles home when she tried to end their relationship.
In May 2024, CNN released disturbing footage from 2016 showing the hip-hop mogul physically abusing Cassie Ventura in the lobby of a California hotel. Combs later apologized for his actions in the video via an Instagram post. While the lawsuit with Ventura was settled outside the court that same month, multiple other victims alleged Combs of similar charges in the coming months.
In March 2024, federal agents raided Combs' properties in Los Angeles and Miami in connection to alleged s*x trafficking charges. In September 2024, Combs was also charged with a $100 million default judgment for alleged s*xual assault of Derrick Lee Cardello-Smith at a 1997 party.
Several other individuals, including Rodney ‘Lil Rod’ Jones, Dawn Richards, Crystal McKinney, Joie Dickerson-Neal, and anonymous plaintiffs, have also filed lawsuits against Diddy, accusing him of multiple instances of s*xual abuse and harassment.
Sean Diddy Combs is currently held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn while facing his charges in court.
