Boys World took to their official social media accounts on July 6, 2024, to announce that they were disbanding. They revealed in their official statement that they were going through a transition that would give them new opportunities. They also came together teary-eyed in a video to address the same.

The five-piece group consisting of Elana Caceres, Lillian Kay, Queenie Mae Villaluz, Makhyli Simpson, and Olivia Ruby released a statement announcing that they will forever remember their time spent together that was “filled with joy and camaraderie.” They then said:

“As any career in the music industry, there are moments of change and transition. We have accepted that there are some things that are out of our control. Change can be scary and uncomfortable, but it can also be incredibly exciting. It can open doors to opportunities and creative possibilities we’ve never imagined.”

Boys World also said in a video:

“As you can tell we are filled with many emotions right now but it’s sad. We’re all f**king sad about this. Obviously for the past five years it has always been just like each other. We have went through so much in this group and I don’t know, can’t even imagine like dealing with everything we went through without these girls, I’m so thankful for them.”

More about Boys World as TikTok group announces that they are disbanding

Los Angeles-based girl group Boys World made their debut in October 2020 with their single Girlfriends. The song was quick to go viral on TikTok and launch them into internet stardom.

They have released numerous songs that celebrate girl power and friendship, including Wingman, Me, My Girls & I, and Gone Girl, among others. They also released a track called Mantrum last year, which delved into a boy’s underdeveloped emotions. The song became a fan favorite for its fun and lighthearted beat.

They released their first five-track EP While You Were Out in 2021 and their second five-track EP Me, My Girls & I in 2023.

The term Boys World came from the “Best of Yourself” acronym. The group was formed in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the five shared a common interest in making an album and going on tour in the future.

Makhyli, a Michigan native, studied at a creative arts school and also did voice lessons before joining the group. She revealed in a 2020 J-14 interview that she initially wanted to pursue acting but got interested in music. Speaking about what kind of music the group releases, she told J-14:

“It’s about girls supporting girls, lifting each other up, and loving each other.”

Queenie Mae was born in the Philippines; however, she spent most of her time in California. Speaking about Boys World projects, she said in the aforementioned interview:

“When it comes to positivity and awareness, whatever we put out, we want to attract those kinds of people too. And if they’re not, maybe they can learn through us.”

Elana is a singer and model who hails from New York. She always had a passion for music, especially at a young age. She revealed in the J-14 interview that she often used to sing in the karaoke machine that was in her home.

Lillian was secretive about her musical talent before exploding on stage with impressive vocals. While chatting with People magazine, she revealed that she sang in front of her parents for the first time ever while auditioning for Boys World.

Olivia has always had a passion for music. She plays numerous instruments, including the ukelele, piano, and guitar.

They released the single Caught in Your Love earlier this year.

Fans now await to see the future projects of the five women.
