Britney Spears celebrated her 43rd birthday on Monday, December 2, 2024, and the pop star also reached another milestone on her special day as she legally became a single woman as of December 2. It comes several months after she and Sam Asghari settled their divorce.
The exes split last year, but per E! News, legal documents showed that it was only last May that they settled their divorce, with December 2 listed as the official end date of their marital status. On August 2023, Sam Asghari filed to divorce the "Princess of Pop." He cited "irreconcilable differences" as the cause of the split during the divorce petition but looked back on his marriage with Britney Spears with fondness. He addressed the split on his Instagram at the time, which BBC quoted:
"We will hold onto the love and respect we have for each other and I wish her the best always."
He also asked both the public and the media for kindness and thoughtfulness amid the divorce because, he said, that asking for privacy "seems ridiculous."
