"Bro a full-time father now we’re not getting that album" — Fans react to A$AP Rocky's Bottega Veneta Father's Day commercial alongside his sons

On June 16, 2024, American rapper A$AP Rocky took to Instagram to share a glimpse of his Father’s Day-themed commercial in collaboration with Bottega Veneta, where he posed with his two sons, the two-year-old RZA and the 10-months-old Riot Rose.

In the caption of his post, A$AP Rocky shared a quote by the campaign’s photographer, the iconic Carrie Mae Weems. It read:

“TO ALL THE FATHERS WHO DARE TO DREAM, AND ALL THE FATHERS WHO DARE TO LOVE.”

The post contained a carousel of black-and-white images and a video where he was seen playing piano with his sons, blowing bubbles, kissing, hugging, and holding them on his lap, among other father-son things.

The post has now gone viral with the internet having diverse reactions to it. While some of his fans praised him for being a doting father, others regretted that fatherhood would delay the release of his forthcoming album.

For instance, Instagram user @yourevilexx wrote in the comment section of his post:

“Bro a full-time father now we’re not getting that album.”

A$AP Rocky’s Father’s Day commercial is titled “Portraits of Fatherhood”

On Sunday, A$AP Rocky celebrated International Father’s Day on social media and shared pictures and videos from his latest commercial in collaboration with the Italian fashion brand Bottega Veneta, featuring his two infant sons RZA and Riot Rose. It contained a lengthy caption that read:

"IT WAS A PLEASURE TO WORK ALONGSIDE MY CHILDREN & FAMILY X MATTHIEU BLAZY X BOTTEGA VENETA X CARRIE MAE WEEMS TO BRING U THIS HEARTFELT FATHERS DAY PIECE."

He further wrote:

"THIS SPECIAL MOMENT CAPTURES THE VULNERABILITY, LOVE, AND INTERACTION BETWEEN MY SONS AND I, I'M PROUD 2 BE THE MAN THEY CALL DADDA ❤️ HAPPY FATHER'S DAY TO ALL PROUD DADS OUT THERE, A$AP."

Rocky’s campaign is titled “Portraits of Fatherhood” and was developed by the brand’s creative director Matthieu Blazy in partnership with renowned photographer and artist Carrie Mae Weems.

“Rocky’s concerns as an African American man with children profoundly moved me. Historically there has been a deep lack of honest representation of the Black family… Rocky can be seen with his children, in love. To be able to speak that authenticity through him was galvanizing,” Weems shared with the publication.

She also added that the campaign was a “unique opportunity” to reveal something “positive” and “truthful” about Rocky’s experiences as a father as well as “reflect” the broader Black population.

Matthieu Blazy also shared a statement sharing he was “deeply moved” by the campaign, which according to him showed “the realness of Rocky as a father and as a man beyond the public figure.”

“What strikes me first and foremost in the pictures is their intimacy,” he added.

Notably, A$AP Rocky was also recently named as the brand ambassador of Bottega Veneta. Meanwhile, he is also gearing up for the release of his fourth studio album Don't Be Dumb.
