On the recent episode of No Ordinary Podcast, aired on Tuesday, October 1, certain comments made by host DDG managed to grab the attention of netizens. At some point in the podcast, the rapper weighed in on the concept of 9-5 jobs. He added:

"I feel like a 9-5 jobs should only be used to fund your own business. Like I don't think nobody should ever get a job & say that I'm gonna be the... best employee of the year. Like nobody should ever think that because if you're ever late too many times, they're gonna get rid of you..."

He continued stating that he would do the same thing to someone working for him in his business. The remark made netizens rush to social media platforms to express their opinions. Here are some popular responses found on X, formerly known as Twitter:

"Bro got so rich he’s now out of touch with reality"

Someone on the internet asked:

"Then what happens when everyone owns their own business."
"Some people talk more than they think," stated another user.
"Good advice but only for someone without a degree," commented a user.

While many disagreed with the rapper's opinions, he had quite a few supporters too. A netizen tweeted:

"I agree with DDG 1000%. 9-5s should only be used to fund your own business because who wants to work a 9-5 everyday for the rest of their lives? Not I."
"Started my business on the side while working 9-5. Best decision ever," added a tweet.
"This is true though, everyone in the replies just broke," declared another user.

"Just my opinion"- said DDG in response to the bashing he received on social media after his remarks about people doing 9-5 jobs

After a number of people reacted to his comments, many of whom disagreed with him, rapper DDG took to X, to respond to the comments. He shared a tweet on Thursday, October 3, where he wrote:

"Just my opinion if u aspire to be a boss one day. u have to invest in yourself. nun wrong wit working a 9-5 for your entire life tho if u cool wit it. i just like to motivate people to dream bigger."

This comment also met with some criticism with many claiming that being an entertainer wouldn't be a stable job like a usual 9-5 one. One netizen tweeted:

"RARE L DDG. Everyone shouldn’t be a business owner. Shut up bruh please."

To this, the rapper replied again and wrote:

"No, you shut up keeyuh."

The 26-year-old American YouTuber and rapper began his career in 2014 when he used to make videos. DDG, whose real name is Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr. reportedly dropped out of college in order to focus on YouTube and make it his ultimate career choice.

He has several channels on YouTube including one where he releases music and one where he uploads vlogs. All of his four channels have more than 2 million followers each. The total views on his music channel is about 744 million and that for his vlogs channel is 549 million.
