Drake had some words of wisdom to share at Tyrone T-Rex Edwards' Nostalgia party at Toronto's Rebel nightclub on Saturday, October 5. In between performing and grooving along, the 37-year-old delivered a speech on friendship:

"One thing about Nostalgia, this party here, my real friends are definitely in the building."

However, Drizzy reflected on being betrayed by friends, as he addressed the crowd:

"But I'm gonna tell you, you're gonna come to a point in life where people you thought were friends, or people you thought were close to you, they might switch up, they might try fighting with you, they might stab you in the back, they might do a lot of things to you."

The Family Matters crooner continued that one would eventually realize these things at some point in their lives, adding that many have already experienced such betrayals and might face them again. He said:

"That's how life is. But look, sometimes it's you and you alone by yourself. Sometimes, it's you alone with your thoughts."

Drizzy ended the speech and moved on to play Beyoncé's Me, Myself, and I.

As video footage of Drake's speech from the party made the rounds on social media, fans and netizens shared their thoughts.

"bro is how old and barely got to that realization ? i realized that shit at 21 years old lol", wrote one.
"This guy thinks he’s still in high school", commented another.
"What is this high school behavior from the 6 GOD?? It can’t be", another resonated.
"same dude who religiously sleeps with his other people’s girls btw", wrote one.
"bro is dragging tf out this “no friends in the industry” agenda", said another X user.
sleeps with his friends girls but if they listen to a song it’s betrayal, one more chimed in.
"AK at the Church of Drake this Sunday morning. To hear his service", one person joked referring to DJ Akademiks.
"This guy loves playing the victim, in his mind he still thinks people are not seeing through him", commented one X user.

Drake's speech comes shortly after he unfollowed LeBron and DeRozan on IG

During the Nostalgia party, Drake played a few 50 Cent songs, including Many Men. One of its verses further resonated with what Drake previously conveyed:

"Many men wish death upon me/ Blood in my eye, dog, and I can't see/ I'm tryin' to be what I'm destined to be."

Since Drake and Kendrick Lamar's groundbreaking rap beef broke out earlier this year, several celebrities, including athletes have either directly or subtly announced their bias in this battle. Some chose to remain neutral and extend their admiration for both of their music.

LeBron James, who was close to the Canadian rapper was surprisingly seen at Kendrick Lamar's Pop Out Juneteenth concert on June 19, shortly after the beef ended. The NBA star was also featured in Kendrick's music video for the chart-topping Not Like Us. Last week, fans noticed the One Dance hitmaker appeared to have unfollowed LeBron on Instagram.

Fans noticed DeMar DeRozan was also included in the list of people Drake unfollowed recently, most likely over their support for Kendrick.
