Netizens have reacted to a viral video of actor Will Smith advising Big Sean on how to deal with life in the music industry.

In an August 5, 2024 TikTok video, Smith shared some valuable tips with Sean, focusing on how to embrace change and reach the "edge of the material world." He said:

"When you hit the edge of the material world and… you know, I call it cliff top. Cliff top is the opposing aspect of rock bottom. When somebody hits rock bottom and can go no lower, you need to get your sh*t together or you die. Cliff top is either you find God, or you die 'cause there’s nothing else here for you."

Fans were divided over Smith's advice to Big Sean. Some considered the words valuable while others labelled them as boring. Here are some X reactions:

"Bro talking that nonsense"
"Big Sean is all of us when we accidently make eye contact with someone and get roped into a boring a** one way conversation," a fan said.
"Sean like nicca I’m high I just wanted to say thanks for your contribution in hip hop lol," a user joked.
"Will smith said this like 20x no. Big Sean fit is smooth though," a fan added.
"I have to know what goes on in these folk’s head when Will starts talking," an individual quipped.

On the other hand, many users felt there was substance in Will Smith's words, and appreciated the actor for his thoughts.

"I think I’ve heard Will or someone talk about this before. You get everything you want in life to the point where it all loses meaning," an individual wrote.
"He making a point literally," another X user added.
"How dumb do you have to be to not understand what hes saying. Cliff top (goofy name but still)= Material items wont fulfill your life no matter how much you accumulate. Seek God you doofy clowns. Not a hellcat and a mansion. I refuse to believe yall are THIS stupid," a user opined.
"I love this because Finding God means a few things. I also love this because they are speaking from a different status," another individual mentioned.

Apart from advising Detriot rapper Big Sean, Will Smith has spoken about the spiritual acceptance of life and urged everyone to "embrace the journey" on his new track, You Can Make It, featuring Fridayy and the Sunday Service Choir.

The lyrics state:

"Believe me, they tried to bleed Will Smith / In the rearview, I see adversity was the gift / To lift me higher, gifts require faith / So dry your eyes and then you'll find a way / Out of the madness, out of the maze / Out of the sadness into the rays / The darkest of nights will turn into days / And every storm runs out of rain, hold on."

Meanwhile, Big Sean followed the path of Will Smith by stepping foot into acting in the BET Twenties, created and written by Lena Waithe. Sean also made an appearance in the 2023 House Party reboot where he played himself.

The rapper is also set to release his first book, Go Higher, this year which deals with the topic of mental well-being. Speaking of his book, Sean said in his announcement clip:

“Besides the music, another project that’s been years in the making and it’s finally time. I can’t even believe it for real. But anyone who know me since I signed my record deal knows if you look at my old YouTubes, I’ve always been about speaking from the heart, following your intuition and checking in with yourself mentally, because that’s how I was raised.”

Meanwhile, Will Smith is also reportedly set to return to music this year with a new album after two decades.
