Diddy's legal issue has been creating headlines due to the new developments emerging every day. The latest update has alleged that he had invited Prince William and Prince Harry to his parties on different occasions. However, the duo never agreed to attend the same.
The details were revealed by a former publicist of the artist, Rob Shuter, in an interview with BBC News on October 18, 2024.
"Diddy was obsessed with Prince Harry and Prince William. He thinks of himself as a king, so it makes perfect sense that he would like to have two princes in his entourage. [They] never accepted [the invites], they were never part of his world," he said.
Shuter stated that Diddy reportedly attempted to attract William and Harry to the parties by promising to cover the expenses of their traveling and security. Shuter then added that Diddy's apartment was full of pictures featuring William and Harry.
Shuter's claims garnered a lot of attention on social media and netizens took to the comments section of a post shared by Pop Base on X to share their reactions. One of them also wrote:
"Bro was tryna get that UK citizenship"
People were spotted making fun of the rapper, also known as Sean "Love" Combs, addressing the way he was obsessed with Harry and William.
"Lol Diddy really wanted to rub shoulders with royalty!," a user on X wrote.
"Now why would he need framed pictures of strangers in his apartment," an X reaction reads.
"Looks like he is a big fan of them," a netizen wrote.
"Trying to mix beats with royal meets?" another X user stated.
On the other hand, a section of the public praised Harry and William for the choice they made while getting the invitations.
"Smart choice!" a netizen reacted.
"That's a good thing for them!," a user reaction mentioned.
"This is beyond weird, they knew," a reaction stated.
Diddy shares his first social media post after being arrested
Combs was taken into custody on September 16, 2024, on charges of s*x trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution. Although he applied for bail twice, the requests were dismissed by the court.
While there has been no social media activity from his side after being arrested, he shared an Instagram post on Tuesday, October 15, on the occasion of his daughter Love Sean Combs' birthday. He added a lineup of Love's pictures and the caption reads:
"Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday baby Love! Happy birthday to you!! Happy Birthday @loveseancombs daddy loves you."
Notably, Diddy's representatives have not shared any response related to the social media post until now. On the other hand, the comments section of the post was also closed down for unknown reasons.
Diddy is currently being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn and his trial is scheduled to happen in May 2025. Before the trial date was confirmed, Sean's legal team had applied for a pretrial release at the United States Court of Appeals, saying that there was not enough evidence for his detention. However, the bail was rejected.
