In a recent conversation with DJ Vlad, music executive and rapper Wack 100 addressed Durk Devontay Banks aka Lil Durk's arrest, and how an OTF member snitched on him. The Chicago rapper was taken into custody on murder-for-hire charges on Thursday, a day after five members of his record label Only The Family were also charged with the same and arrested.
According to an unsealed federal criminal complaint, the arrests were made in connection to an attempted murder of rapper Quando Rondo in 2022. Back then, the suspected killers fired shots at Quando near a Beverly Centre gas station, who was with his sister and cousin at the time. Quando and his sister were not injured, but their cousin Lul Pab was left with fatal wounds, leading to his eventual death.
The indictment stated that OTF credit cards were used to book flights and pay for rental cars before the murder. On DJ Vlad's show, as the host mentioned OTF member Jam, who had worked with the FBI as an informant for the past two years, Wack 100 said:
"He did 12 years, got out, interviewed, said he kept it real, brought him cars, gave him 50,000…made mention that ain’t no smudge on his name, he ain’t never been a rat, caught a gun case, but eventually he flipped."
DJ Vlad went on to say Jam served 12 years in prison for attempted murder, supposedly in 2010. He was released in 2022, around the same time as Lul Pab’s murder. Since then Jam had been allegedly wearing a recording wire to gather information about Lil Durk and OTF, eventually leading to the arrests.
Wack 100 and DJ Vlad discussed how it seemed from the timeline of events that Jam immediately got involved with the FBI as soon as he got out of prison.
Federal complaint describes Lil Durk's OTF as a "hybrid organization"
Prosecutors accused Banks' OTF of being a "hybrid organization" in the indictment. They claimed the label was working as a gang involved in criminal activities under the guise of being a rap community. The complaint accused Banks of being the head behind the violent acts that were being carried out by the members.
According to the complaint, the attempted murder of Tyquian Terrel Bowman aka Quando Rondo was one of the criminal acts executed by OTF on Lil Durk's instructions. The scheme was allegedly devised to avenge the late OTF member King Von's killing in 2020. Wack 100 claimed during his conversation with DJ Vlad that Quando's right-hand man was the one who shot King Von.
Referring to Lul Pab's 2022 killing, the prosecutors wrote in the complaint:
"At the time of the murder, T.B. had a public feud with Banks."
They added:
"The feud stemmed from a Nov. 6, 2020, murder, where an associate of T.B. shot and killed an OTF rapper named Dayvon Bennett aka ‘King Von.’ Bennett was a member of OTF and Banks’ close friend."
The Feds also reportedly learned of Lil Durk's attempt to run away abroad before he was apprehended.
