Nicki Minaj has unfollowed Sean "Diddy" Combs on Instagram following the latter's arrest on charges of sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and transportation to engage in prostitution. After his arrest on September 16, Combs was denied bail twice and is awaiting trial at the Metropolitan Detention Center.

Minaj unfollowing Combs on Instagram left netizens stunned. Many saw the irony in the situation, referring to her husband Kenneth Petty, a convicted s*x offender who was incarcerated in 1995 for the first-degree attempted r*pe of a 16-year-old girl.

"Unfollowed diddy but she’s still married to kenneth petty btw," one person said.

Many agreed with the sentiment, pointing out Minaj's hypocrisy in cutting ties with Combs while having "a Diddy in her own home."

"But she has a diddy in her own home," one person tweeted.
"Yet she’s living and married and related to a diddy lmao," another person added.
"Took her years," someone else said.
"Why she even followed him at first place?" a netizen questioned.

Others defended Minaj, asking people to stop harassing her.

"Atleast she got some morals left, tens for nicki on this one," one person commented.
"“Took her forever” maybe ‘cause she’s on tour rn, and not 24/7 on ig?" another person added.
"So y’all s**t on Nicki for following Diddy.. okay cool, I get that.. She unfollows Diddy.. now y’all hopping onto her marrying Kenneth., pick a struggle," someone else tweeted.

Nicki Minaj was previously signed to Diddy's management team

Nicki Minaj was signed to Diddy's management company until May 2011, following which she moved to Hip Hop Since 1978 (HHS78), which also managed her peers Lil Wayne and Drake. In a 2010 interview with Hot 97, Combs said he and Minaj didn't have a typical managerial relationship.

“With the Nicki thing, that was even something me and her made sure we didn't define or kept a mystery. So I don't go around saying I'm her manager. We work together in a certain type of unofficial capacity. But I don't really know where they really got that from," he said.

Minaj was invited to perform at Combs' son Justin's 16th birthday party as the teenager's unofficial date in 2010. In an Instagram Live in 2023, Minaj reflected on the party, adding she had turned up late, much to the ire of Combs and Justin's mother, Misa.

“What was that like, me being your Sweet 16 date?. I know I was mad late, and I can’t remember much, but I felt like I just knew that Puffy and Misa were so mad at me; I could feel it. I was so mad at myself, because all of the dresses that I had been trying on that day, I hated every single one,” she said.

The Barbie World rapper said she felt "horrible" about being tardy that day. She also wondered why Justin didn't invite his girlfriend to his party and took Minaj as his date instead.

Diddy was denied bail as a "serious flight risk"

In other news, P. Diddy was denied bail twice after being arrested on September 16. His bail bond of $50 million and other stipulations were denied after the prosecution argued that he was a "serious flight risk" and a threat to his victims if he was granted bail.

The rapper's 14-page indictment was unsealed on Tuesday, which detailed his many alleged crimes, including events he hosted called "freak offs." Court documents described the "freak offs" as elaborate s*x acts that the rapper directed, orchestrated, and filmed. During the acts, he allegedly coerced and drugged women to have s*x with male escorts.

The indictment alleged the rapper and his associates threatened his victims and witnesses to keep them quiet.

“When employees, witnesses to his abuse, or others threatened Combs’ authority or reputation, Combs and members and associates of [Combs] Enterprises engaged in acts of violence, threats of violence, threats of financial and reputational harm, and verbal abuse,” the documents read.

Authorities discovered proof of the "freak offs," narcotics, and 1000 bottles of baby oil and lubricant when they raided the rapper's LA and Miami mansions in March 2024.
