On Friday, October 25, 2024, Beyoncé appeared at Kamala Harris' rally in Houston, Texas. Before the event, however, rumors of a performance by the singer went viral. In reality, though, the attendees witnessed a speech by the 43-year-old singer. The singer said in her speech:

"I'm not here as a celebrity. I'm not here as a politician. I'm here as a mother. A mother who cares deeply about the world my children and all of our children live in, a world where we have the freedom to control our bodies, a world where we're not divided."

In the end, Beyoncé was joined by Kelly Rowland before they introduced Vice President Kamala Harris on the stage. Unlike 2016, when the Halo singer performed at a Presidential campaign for Hilary Clinton in Cleveland, this year the same didn't happen, which further disappointed many attendees.

Meanwhile, a TikToker called the singer out on her speech. She said:

"This message is for Beyoncé. We don't give a d*mn about how many speeches you read from a teleprompter, how many rituals you do, or what kind of voodoo you do... Texas will forever be a red state..."

She continued:

"If you come up here and try to finesse the Black vote for a politician who doesn't have no plans for your community also shows us how much you care about your own people! Bye-bye Beyoncé..."

The TikToker even mentioned that the singer should be worried about Diddy, Epstein, and other scandals she had been rumored to be linked with.

Beyoncé and Kamala Harris were bashed on social media after the singer left the stage after her few minutes long speech

Kamala Harris' Presidential campaign rally in Houston seemingly didn't go as planned after many attendees and netizens expressed dissatisfaction due to the singer's lack of performance, which many expected. According to several tweets made on X, many attendees were present at the event only to witness a free concert by the singer.

In her speech, the Grammy winner said:

"We're all part of something much bigger. We must vote, and we need you."

It was reported by Time that about 30,000 people attended the rally in Houston on Friday. While attendees and netizens expected a performance from Beyoncé, Willie Nelson was the one who performed at the event.

Beyoncé was born and raised in Houston, Texas. Her 2016 track Freedom, which was part of her album Lemonade, had been used as the anthem of Harris' Presidential campaign.

In July, the Vice President first used this song as the anthem, the same month Tina Knowles publicly endorsed Harris. According to reports by The Associated Press, a campaign official confirmed that the singer had permitted the party to use the song as Harris' campaign's anthem.

In the Friday event, Kamala Harris spoke about her stance on the abortion ban and said:

"Women have died because of Trump abortion bans. In just four years as President, Donald Trump was able to erase half a century of hard-fought progress for women. Now, he wants to go even further… If Trump wins again, he will ban abortion nationwide."

The presidential elections are just around the corner and are scheduled for November 5, 2024.
