On Tuesday, June 18, Canadian rapper, singer, and actor Drake made history by becoming the first artist in the industry to earn 100 billion streams on the popular global music platform Spotify. This feat is across all credits, including as a lead artist and a featured artist.

He reached the figure with 78,140,542 monthly listeners after his prolonged beef with rapper and songwriter Kendrick Lamar.

After the news surfaced online, fans of Drake reacted to the same as they believed that he had won the feud against K-Dot. They urged Lamar to "catch up" as they drew comparisons between the two artists.

“Kendrick can never achieve this even in the next 10 years,” a netizen wrote.
“Kendrick can only dream,” another added.
“Owns Kendrick sadly,” a fan commented.

Others praised Drake and hailed him as a "King" as they reacted to his new feat.

“King, you’ve done it again. Raising the bar for us all. So effortlessly, so cleanly,” an individual wrote.
“The biggest hip hop artist ever. No other hip hop artist can recreate this anytime soon,” another fan wrote.
"The greatest artist of this century Respect him H@te on him, but you can never bring him down First in history Good times," a fan commented.
"It is safe to call him the God of streams," an X user noted.

All about Drake's new feat

The One Dance artist recently released multiple singles, including his Kendrick Lamar diss tracks Push Ups, Taylor Made Freestyle, Family Matters, The Heart Part 6, and his recent collaboration on Sexyy Red’s single U My Everything.

As per HotNewHipHop, Family Matters alone garnered over 75 million streams. His 2016 hit single One Dance, on the other hand, has 3.2 billion streams, the Daily Post reported.

As per Chart Data's breakdown, the Toronto rapper's 100 billion streams in Spotify history showed an average of 234 million streams per song and an average of 5 billion streams per album. Meanwhile, as per Hip Hop DX, pop icon Taylor Swift is right behind Drake on the Spotify list as she is currently at 84.4 billion streams.

Kendrick Lamar previously surpassed Drake for most streams by a rap song in a single day on Spotify

In May 2024, Kendrick Lamar released his Drake diss track Not Like Us, which soon became a critical and commercial success. The track achieved a milestone on Spotify as it broke the record for the biggest streaming day for a hip-hop song in the history of the platform. It surpassed Drizzy’s September 2021 single Girls Want Girls (featuring rapper Lil Baby) to achieve the feat with 12.809 million streams.

Not Like Us also surpassed Drizzy’s 2018 song In My Feelings to become one of the most streamed songs in a week by a rapper (81.2 million).
