Popular radio host Charlamagne Tha God (aka Lenard McKelvey) questioned the Democratic rhetoric on Donald Trump after the latter won the U.S. presidential elections on November 6. The Republican supremo is currently on 301 electoral votes, easily surpassing the favorable number of 270, per The Associated Press.

In his popular show, The Breakfast Club, Charlamagne Tha God wondered why the Democrats allegedly changed their tone towards the 78-year-old Republican after the election results. Leaders like Joe Biden and Kamala Harris had constantly called Trump "a threat to democracy" but refrained from badmouthing him after the election results.

"I’m glad everybody’s having a sense of optimism because the reality is we have no choice, because we’re here now," he said, alluding to Donald Trump's victory.

However, the popular radio host pointed out the marked change in tone of the Democrats, saying:

"But don’t y’all find it strange now, after he’s won, they’re not calling him a threat to democracy? They’re not calling him a fascist. I mean, damn, on Monday they were just calling him those things,"
"It just makes you wonder how much of it did they really believe, or how much of it was just politics," he continued.

Democrats had previously called Donald Trump a fascist leader, incessantly condemning his policies throughout the election campaign. Charlamagne Tha God himself had labeled Trump as dangerous for the nation. The radio host admitted to suffering from what he referred to as "Trump Derangement Syndrome."

After her loss, Kamala Harris delivered a concession speech acknowledging the people's support and thanking them for sticking by her. She emphasized the importance of perseverance and urged her followers to keep fighting for the betterment of the nation.

"My heart is full today — full of gratitude for the trust you have placed in me, full of love for our country, and full of resolve," she said.

In a July 23, 2024 appearance on The Lead, Charlamagne Tha God opened up about his support for Vice President Kamala Harris, stating that he would "absolutely" support her in the United States presidential elections.

Charlamagne's statement came shortly after Joe Biden decided to drop out of the 2024 presidential election and endorsed his 2020 running mate Kamala Harris. In a letter addressed to the Democrats on X, Biden extended his "full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee" and fight against Donald Trump.

Speaking to CNN host Jake Tapper, he opined that Kamala Harris should be given a chance to replace Joe Biden after the latter's withdrawal.

"I absolutely would endorse Vice President Kamala Harris. I supported Kamala Harris in 2020 when she ran for president; I was out there on the campaign trail with her,” he said.

Charlamagne Tha God went on to cite Harris as the only reason why he voted for Joe Biden in the previous election.

"She was the only reason that I voted for the Biden-Harris ticket to begin with, and we have our disagreements on air and off air, but I think that she is the perfect person to fight in these unprecedented times right now. I would absolutely support her," said the radio host.

Kamala Harris also got the public support of renowned celebrities like Taylor Swift, Jennifer Lopez, Beyoncé, Rihanna, Katy Perry, Harrison Ford, Lizzo, and Cardi B, in addition to Charlamagne Tha God for the 2024 U.S. presidential election.
