Rapper Young Thug was released from jail after entering a non-negotiated plea deal amid his YSL RICO trial. The rapper, whose real name is Jeffery Lamar Williams, spent over 900 days behind bars following his arrest on racketeering and gang-related charges. The singer has now been sentenced to time served and 15 years old probation.
Young Thug entered a no-contest plea to violating Fulton County, Georgia’s RICO Act, and leading a street gang. He pleaded guilty to multiple other charges.
Fulton County Superior Court Judge Paige Reese Whitaker asked Young Thug in court if it was his decision to enter the plea because he was guilty.
“Is it your decision to waive these rights and enter a guilty plea deal because you are in fact guilty?” Whitaker asked.
The Grammy-winning artist responded by saying "yes” before his attorney interjected him on one of the counts.
The rapper’s girlfriend and R&B singer Mariah the Scientist has since reacted to his release in a text sent to WSBTV's Michael Seiden, who asked her for a comment. She said that it was more than what they prayed for and were grateful for the opportunity, calling it the "greatest opportunity."
“Thank you Judge Paige Whitaker for giving us the opportunity to move forward with our life! Thank you Brian Steel and Keith Adams and every attorney working on this case, tireless. THANK YOU!” Mariah said.
Netizens have since created hilarious memes of the pair on X, with one netizen commenting that "Christmas came early for Mariah." Others said that Mariah's next album will be "full of love songs," as some claimed that they wished to exchange places with the singer for the night.

As Young Thug entered his plea deal, it brought an end to the multi-defendant YSL RICO case, which holds the record for being the longest trial held in Georgia.
