On Sunday, July 21, rappers 50 Cent and Drake were spotted hanging out together in the latter’s hometown Toronto, Canada. In the now-viral video, the duo was seen holding drinks in their hands and sharing a laugh in what appeared to be inside a party.

Their meet comes months after Drake threw shots at 50 Cent in his Kendrick Lamar April 19 diss track Push Ups, where he rapped:

“N**gas really got me out here talkin’ like I’m 50, ayy / N**gas really got me out here rappin’ what I’m livin’ / I might take your latest girl and cuff her like I’m Ricky / Can’t believe he jumpin’ in, this n**ga turnin’ fifty.”

However, it appears the two rappers have put aside past events, as evident from the video of them linking up. Regardless, the internet has been having varied reactions.

An Instagram user with the handle @great.ness commented under DJ Akademiks’ post of the video and claimed that the video was fine until it showed former Drake security guard and current OVO rapper Baka Not Nice.

Kendrick Lamar name-dropped Baka in his Drake diss track Not Like Us, where he rapped, “And Baka got a weird case, why is he around,” referring to Baka’s multiple trafficking charges dating back to 2014.

Several others joined in the conversation and trolled the unlikely friendship between 50 Cent and Drake.

“50 knows he is going to make some money from this friendship,” a person wrote.
“Drake so happy he got a friend,” one person wrote.
“The enemy of my enemy is not my friend!” another person wrote.

Others mentioned that the rappers were making fun of Rick Ross, who was jumped at a Vancouver concert last month for playing Kendrick Lamar’s Not Like Us, and predicted how Rozay would react to this collab.

“Laughing at Ross getting jumped on,” a netizen wrote.
“Ross fuming right now lol,” another netizen wrote.
“I fw Fif heavy an I just can’t understand for the life of me y he’s associating with this fool… is it cuz of the Ross beef?” one netizen asked.

A few claimed that 50 Cent and Drake’s latest meet-up was directly linked to the latter’s rap battle with Kendrick Lamar.

“I just wonder how serious Drake and 50 are taking all this? It’s all orchestrated. But if Drake really has 50 on his side Kendrick has to change his strategy. 50 is a hell of a chess player. The war continues,” the individual wrote.
“It makes sense I mean 50 did lose to Kanye in a battle and Drake lost to Kendrick in a rap War!!! Misery loves company,” another individual wrote.

Both 50 Cent and Drake acknowledged hanging together on their respective social media

While Drake and 50 Cent did not share the now-viral video of them spending time together, the former took to his Instagram Story and shared a picture of them. Later, the same picture was reposted by 50 Cent, who wrote in the caption:

“Brain storming last night me and @champagnepapi gonna get the film, rolling biggest ting on your TV GLG GreenLightGang @bransoncognac @lecheminduroi.”

So far, it remains unclear whether a professional collaboration is brewing between the two or whether the meet-up was casual. Reportedly, 50 Cent was in Toronto for a gig on Saturday (July 20) night and was also seen hanging out with Drake associate and rapper Boi-1da.
